Most of the time I love Marshalls, I love the sales they have weekly, the home decor, I usually always leave with something that I or my children adore, and the staff are usually always very sweet , today however I unfortunately did not exactly have that experience, I happened to walk in during peak hours last week and the line at the dressing room was nearly impossible to get to, having impatient children, I opted not to try to on a sweater set as I will usually always fit into a small or medium but this one was tailored quite strangely, and it didn't even seem like the top and bottom were even of the same size. I came in for a return after work this evening and realized I had misplaced my reciept, the customer service I received for simply not having a receipt was just a bit disappointing, approaching the desk the woman had already seemed a bit annoyed and perturbed with me for approaching the desk with a return as well as not having a receipt, even sort of flailing her arms a bit stating " well we don't even have this item and you don't even have a ticket" so I "the customer" politely offered to find one that was similar as this set was a highlighted item just last week, then the phone rang, and she seemed to be even bothered by that as well, muttering something under breath and hanging up upbrubtly, it just made me feel as though I was a complete nuisance, which is not fair. I can understand certain establishments have different protocols with returns and it's also the end of the night, but I am a faithful customer. I shouldn't be treated that way only because I have no receipt, I hoped for at least a bit of cordiality, even if I could not return the item. I work in retail management and customer service myself and customers returning items with misplaced receipts is quite common in a retail environment, and something that I deal with everyday, I understand that people are a bit tired by the end of the night, I also am a working class citizen and so am I. This experience was a bit disappointing as I usually love shopping at Marshalls and normally have a pleasurable experience with the staff, I usually never have to return anything but because of the customer service on something so simple that could have been handled so much better it made me...
Read moreI was on this store in January with my coworker and at checkout I left my iPhone 15 on the counter because I was taking clothes of the hangers to help the cashier number 4. After I paid aroun 300 dollar I forgot my iPhone I went to my car put the shopping there and went back inside to get my iPhone was gone. I asked the cashier if she saw my phone she answered No I asked for a manager this was on a Saturday January 27 the manager told me that they can’t see the cameras that she would get back to me and never did I went back a week later and then she told me a needed a police order to check on the cameras . She never showed her face or apologized in person for the incident instead she spoke to other associates that handled the radio to me , I had the worded experience bc she told me “how come you haven’t call the police yet “ I never had an iPhone stolen before and I even told her look I don’t know how this things get handle . The store should be able to look at securities cameras that what they are there for and telling a customer that it is my responsibility to bring the police in is unacceptable, they have the evidence and the proof and refused to be helpful. If anyone cares about the respiration of this business should be a manager I understand the phone could be taken by another customer however not been helpful to find out what happened to my iPhone is very bad way to handle it , I was treated badly and I was ignored at first I stayed there and say I am not leaving without talking to a mane get she obviously never showed up . I don’t recommend this person to be reliable , even though it was just a phone the amount of information and sentimental value was the real painful part for me to loose, and some info I would never recover which as family pics etc , good luck lady manager I don’t remember your name no worthy for me but I have the receipt date and time I was in the store for the record is...
Read moreI usually LOVE Marshalls but on this visit, we witnessed an interaction between management and staff that was inappropriate. My daughter and I were at the check out when the manager on duty proceeded to berate a staff member. This staff who seemed to be new was just coming onto her shift and had not checked in the proper way. The manager's demeanor toward the staff member was best described as belittling and she wasn't quiet about it. We heard every word of it and she hardly allowed the woman to explain what protocol she followed upon arrival for her shift. Instead of giving her the chance to elaborate, the manager curtly cut her off and proceeded to correct her where upon she began to ask her personal health questions. While we understand the need to follow their shift intake protocol and ensure the health safety of employees and the public, behind the counter where customers are checking out is highly inappropriate. I find it hard to believe that they don't have a back room where they can conduct the health interview privately. The employee didn't deserve to be treated with such disregard for her dignity. Maybe that manager should take...
