I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received at Smoothie King this morning. As a frequent customer, I have always appreciated the friendly and helpful demeanor of your staff. However, my experience today was markedly different.
Running short on time, I called to place an order for pickup. The employee, Alex (a short, light-skinned woman with brown hair), informed me that phone orders are not accepted and that I needed to order online. This was unexpected, as I had not encountered this policy before. I explained my situation, mentioning that I was only five minutes away and asked if they could prepare my order as a courtesy. Alex recited my request to someone else and then abruptly hung up.
I called back, assuming we had been disconnected, and requested to speak with the manager. Alex claimed she couldnāt hear me and stated that I had already spoken to the manager. When I insisted on speaking to the manager again, she hung up once more.
Upon arriving at the store, I asked to speak with the manager in person. Alex informed me that the manager had just left for the bank. I mentioned that I would be writing this review and asked for both her name and the managerās name, to which she responded āKelsey.ā I also conveyed my dissatisfaction and warned that their jobs might be at risk due to their behavior.
Customer service is paramount, and the treatment I received today was unacceptable. The owner of this establishment needs to address this issue promptly. Employees who lack enthusiasm and respect for their roles do not represent the brand well and can drive loyal customers away.
I ended up taking my business to Dunkinā Donuts next door, where I was warmly greeted and felt valued as a customer. It is crucial to ensure that your staff embodies the values of customer satisfaction and service excellence. Many individuals would be grateful for the opportunity to work at Smoothie King and would perform their duties with a smile and integrity.

There was a customer sitting in the area, waiting on his smoothie. No acknowledgement or greeting was heard from either of the employees present. As my wife was trying to decide, banter broke out between the 2 employees as to which of them....was going to take our order. After an exchange with the coworker, the employee begrudgingly came over to take our order. In the middle of my wife ordering, another employee appeared from the back, immediately engaged the employee taking our order, and they began a brief conversation in the middle of the order being taken. Once the order was taken, another employee appeared from the rear. Now the 3 employees are up front, and no one is making our order. Some time passed, while the employees present continued to do everything except to provide service to paying customers. After at least 10 minutes, I interrupted their personal conversations, to inquire about our order. The employees then began to move in the manner of making the smoothies...that we now had been waiting for 15 minutes. By the time, the smoothies were made, 1 delivery driver with 2 smoothies, and 2 separate customers had come in, ordered their smoothies and were served. I had to go back in the store and have (1) of the smoothies remade due the peanut butter being omitted from (1) of the (2) smoothies. The entire saga, took upwards of 25 minutes, with the most abhorrent customer service I have ever experienced in the over 25 years I have been a customer of Smoothie King. Although, I will continue to promote the brand, I would warn any loyal customers or new to the brand, stay away from the E. Commercial location and go to the downtown Ft. Lauderdale location. If the nonchalant customer service coupled with the 25 minutes to make 2 smoothies, is inviting to you, then I recommend this location. Secondly , I ordered a strawberry banana multivitamin and peanut butter with whey protein smoothie he overcharged me ( I get this every day the price always is changing apparently) he makes me first and I go to take it and I taste it there is no peanut butter so when I tell him thereās no peanut butter in this he literally sucks his teeth gets mad and says Jesus Christ.
