Sushi quality was great, 2 out of 3 servers were not good, price was ok, service time was a bit slow, decor looks very nice and a lot of classic sushi rolls are simply not in the menu. So for Suhi fans like myself, identifying with the signature rolls is quite impossible since it seems they are trying to reinvent the sushi wheel or something.
I stood at the hostess stand for 5 min, first behind a guy then a server almost about to ignore me came back to her senses and sat me down.
She immediately wanted to drop me at the table alone w the menu, so, since I didn't know how soon she would be back to my table I tried ordering a classic so at least I had part of my order in. But this server is the type of server that doesn't wanna work w the customer or guide the customer to find similar options in the menu she specializes, she would rather leave them to sit and re learn sushi according to the restaurant names.
She told me they didn't have rainbow roll, and that's why she could leave me w the menu so I could find something I like. Now, I now sushi roll names by heart after 20 years of eating sushi, but she couldn't help me w cucumber wrapped suhi rolls either.
When she mentioned that she could leave me alone to read the menu, I said, you know what, yes! Leave me alone.
So clueless, she left without even getting my drink order. 10 minutes later, the ONLY reason why my rating is not 2 starts based just on service and waiting time, came to my table and her name is Isabel. She got my drink order and came back to get my order. I ordered a few things.
I got my food 15 min later, nothing at all was ready before the 15 min. When I got my food, the other server asked me if I wanted anything else. I ordered eel sauce and spicy mayo, which came in 1.5 oz plastic containers filled half way. Later I asked her for soy sauce and she brought me 3 to go packets.
Now, when Isabel came to my table again, I asked of there was anything similar to a Rainbow roll and she was smart enough to offer me to tell the chef to make it for me, which was a great move. I mean, what sushi place doesn't offer Rainbow roll.
I ordered an additional roll a little later, then told her that I expected famcier soy sauce at a place that charges $45 dollars for a Sashimi Deluxe, she apologized and brought me the soy sauce fancy container. I mean, after all, my order was $80 dollars, so I better got that version if the soy sauce.
I ordered a raw seared tuna dish, can't remember the name, a raw salmon dish, a Salmon Tartare, a Rainbow roll and a Dragon roll.
1 person cam easily spend between $24-40 dollars to be satisfied with Sushi. They offer other cuisines so I do recommend trying this place out but be a bit skeptical unless your server is great like mine.

Read moreI brought my family today to eat dinner at Sokai. I am a frequent visitor of the Sokai at the falls, but since we had done some shopping at Dolphin mall we came to this one. At the beginning everything went great, drinks and appetizer excellent. However, when it came to take our food order they did not come for 35 minutes, only reason I know it’s because my fiancee was starving and he kept looking at the clock. While the server took our order she kept looking at the bar, not paying attention, trying to listen in on their conversation and asked us multiple times to repeat ourselves. When our sushi rolls came, I ordered a Tempura JB roll because I am not a fan of raw sushi; roll came with no tempura and raw. I asked if it would be possible to remake it, or just get something else. She said she would remake it since it was what I wanted originally. I had picked at the roll to see if all of them were raw, the sushi came back cooked, with the residue from the griddle, burned bits. When I flipped it, the hole where I picked at it was there and it was raw on that side. They took the roll back for a second time and took long enough so that my entire family had finished all their meals. After all that wait when the roll came back, they had tempurad the salmon inside, which that is not how you make a JB roll, and the outside still had no tempura. I also want to add that in this entire experience we were not asked if we wanted another drink or refills, to the point were my brother in law started shaking the little ice left to see if it would melt into some water. To top the night when we asked for water before leaving they brought us a glass that had a black smudge in it. Needless to say we left minimal tip, and when I asked to speak to the manager the server ignored me and went about her way. On our way out I overheard her talking to the chef that we had left her no tip. I don’t know if the management here is different from the one at the falls, but they have a lot of...
