Went to eat there last night with my husband and 3 of my daughters. It was extremely packed when we arrived so the little while we had to wait was understandable, and by the time we had our drinks and placed our order it had quieted down considerably. My tea was sour and tasted very old. I replaced it with a soda and was good to go. After that is when everything started going down hill. Our food came out and rhe woman carrying 2 of our plates to help our server out held each plate right in front of her face to ask whose food it was while she is shaking her head back and forth to look at both sides of the table. I have extreme OCD and do not want anyone talking right over my food and definitely do not want their hair anywhere near my plate and as a person who waited tables for most of her adult life I can say that I know for a fact that os unacceptable. Moving forward once we had our meals I opened my silverware and there was only a knife in it, no fork. I waited several minutes for our server to come back to check in on us so I could ask her for a fork (I had a salad). When she did come back and I asked her she told me she would get me one in a minute and proceeded to set the group that had just came it. She then went and checked on another table, refilled their drinks for them, and then brought me a fork so I could finally eat my meal. At this time we had 4 empty drinks she did not acknowledge and I had to flag her back down to get us refills. My daughters were still hungry seeing as one of them didn't eat her chicken tenders bacause they tasted like they had been fried in bad oil so they split the other ones salad (with one fork because us who got a salad got silverware) came back to deliver the check the check each ordered an additional item my husband had mentioned he'd like a shake but didn't want to be bothersome so I asked my daughter to go to the servers station and ask her to add it on so she wouldn’t have to make a trip back to us. While we were waiting on that there were 2 empty drinks again I told my daughters they could wait until the rest of the food was brought to ask for another refill. When the server brought the food she looked down at the table and did not offer to refill them I had to specifically ask her to do so. She then came back with the two drinks and took the old glasses with her. With their straws still in it, and if you have children you know the children's glasses have a lid on it. I told them to just take their lids off and drink out of the cup because after that she came and sat the check down and that was the last we saw of her. I could see straight into the server station from my table and she spent her time back there counting her tips, and checking on her telephone. The food was good, except for the chicken tenders. But their servers really need some work. I still tipped over 25% because there was a lot of us and having been a server for so many years I know it's not easy, but I can definitely say that...
Read moreVery very poor experience. Our experience in the drive through tonight was likened to arguing with a spoiled teenager. Upon arriving at the drive through we placed our order. The employee was spoken to with respect and treated well but us. After a short wait in line we pulled up to the window and presented payment. When the order was pass to us it was apparently obvious to us items were missing from the order. I politely informed the employee that we were missing and item and to please correct the issue. Rather than correct the issue the employee started to argue with me about what was ordered and told me " you did not order that". I insisted that he was not correct in his assumption but he continued to argue with me. I was informed that if I wanted the item I ordered I would have to pay extra for it. By this time I was to aggravated to go on with this any longer so I just gave him my card and he proceeded to charge me an additional 3 dollars for what I had ordered the first time. The real kicker here is the second bag I was given was still not the item ordered . It seems like management at this particular store is a complete failure and the employees truly do not have any clue what customer service is all about. Folks we have a lot of choices available to us. Consider spending your money somewhere else. This particular store is full of amateurs.
Update!! A few minutes after this review I attempted to contact the number provided on the bottom of the receipt. The first call I placed was answered and promptly hung up on. The second call made was answered and it became very clear they honestly do not care about customer satisfaction at all. Complete failure on steak n...
Read moreI wish I could say I've had a positive experience at Steak and Shake, but unfortunately, my recent visits have left me thoroughly disappointed. This was the third time in a row that my order was not prepared correctly.
Today I ordered a bacon burger, only to find out at home that there was no bacon in it. Understandably frustrated, I returned to the restaurant to have the order corrected. To my surprise, I was handed bacon and told that if I wanted a completely new sandwich, I'd need to wait for at least 5 minutes. By this point, my original sandwich was already cold from the back-and-forth trips, making the idea of adding bacon to it far from satisfying.
My frustration grew when I asked to speak to the manager, only to find out that the person I was talking to was the manager. This level of customer service is truly disheartening. As someone who had given Steak and Shake multiple chances, this experience has finally convinced me that this restaurant is not capable of meeting even the basic standards of accuracy and customer satisfaction.
It's disappointing to say that this last visit has sealed the deal for me. I can't justify returning to a restaurant that consistently gets orders wrong and fails to provide a satisfactory solution. It's clear that the attention to detail and customer care that should be the cornerstone of any dining establishment are sorely lacking here. As a result I won't be returning...
