It took me a few visits to initially change my review, so I returned twice before this posting.
I sat at the bar after a workout to grab a snack. I was greeted right away and asked allot of questions about the drinks, which the bartender happily answered. I settled on the Shrimp Skewer appetizer and a Jamaican Cowboy, both excellent.
I returned for dinner yesterday with a friend. We were greeted by both bartenders who introduced themselves to us and made several drink recommendations. We ordered drinks and then came the hot, fresh bread. I limited myself to half of one because I knew i had salad coming. Thank you for serving the salad in a chilled bowl. The 3rd worst thing you can possibly eat is warm lettuce.
We both ordered the 8oz New York Strip. It was cooked to a perfect medium, which is supposed to mean hot pink center, had great grill marks and lots of flavor. I usually don't care for broccoli in restaurants, however, i figured let's try it. I was pleasantly surprised. The brocolli was cooked well, not mushy, hot and flavorful.
I drank about 1/2 of a Kenny's cooler, the drink was good and a pretty shade of blue, I was just too full.
My faith in this Texas Roadhouse has been restored and I look forward to future visits. Update 8/2/2019
Stopped by for something to eat and a drink. I was alone, so I sat at the bar.
It was 12 minutes before one of the 3 bartenders even said hi to me. I did get a water and ordered a Margarita . At 21 minutes in I left . I dont even know where the bartender I ordered from went.
I felt like being alone made me invisible to Roadhouse . I gave this location 5 stars awhile ago. I have been twice more and it was good and ok. This is the 3rd lackluster experience, so I am changing my review.
They are building several new restaurants on Big Bend, I hope this location really takes a look at how they can do better.
In a positive note it was very busy. Initial Visit
This is a newer location they opened in Riverview and the food is even better than the other locations.
The meat they use is on display when you enter sbs you are seated with a basket of hot, freshly baked rolls and cinnamon butter
They have early bird dinner specials that include two sides. I ordered Chicken Fried Chicken and my Daughter ordered 6oz Sirloin.
The first side I had was salad. The lettyce was cold and the tangy French dressing with it was very good. In addition to the bread a bucket if peanuts is sitting on the table begging you to eat them, dint give in save room.
My Chicken was not too heavily breaded or greasy and I ordered the country gravy on the side for dipping. I was very impressed. The bite I had of my daughters steak was tender and flavorful, nicely surprised again.
I will definately go back to this location for a steak and for football, the bar is nicely equipped with TVs.
Thank you Vinny for the great service and recommendations, we...
Read moreIt was busy, and on Friday night, of course, we understood that it may be a little more chaotic. We signed in on the app, and even after they had us stand in their little square, when we got the text, we stood there at least another 10 to 15 min. When we were sat the host told us to wait 10 min to ask for rolls when our server came because they were just making some, he then proceeded to walk the next couple to their table and low an behold a handful of rolls. Our waiter Ariel did not approach for at least 15 min after we sat. We watched the hostess Snapchat while we continued to wait and take pics of herself, and at least 5 staff members standing around laughing and doing absolutely nothing. We had at least five other servers past by, didn't ask if we had been helped, or grab a courtesy drink order. When Ariel approached, she got our drink order and ran off... didn't even have time to ask for bread. We had to ask a different waiter. Ariel returned about 10 min later with our water, sprite, and lemonade. We didn't order anything fancy. Took our order, and we never saw her again. Appetizer and salad came out and delivered by someone other than our waitress. By the time over and hour and 20 min had gone by, we were over it. I know if my significant other refuses to talk to the wait staff, we have reached the point of no return. I originally got up to use the restroom. However, Chris, the manager who was laughing and cutting up with at least 5 staff members by the galley door. Now I have been in the food industry and when you are an hour and some deep in a wait, you as a manager should be on the the floor assisting taking unnecessary dishes etc, but to be cutting it up with 5 staff members who could be doing the same... I was at a loss. I asked him to please bring our bill and our food to go, we needed to get out of there. I am not someone to want to get anything for free, I'll pay for my food but not the lack of service and waste of my tome, and he had the food packed up and didn't present the bill. I again told him I wanted to pay for my food, and now, how had he been genuine in his response? I would not be writing this review. "Clearly, we did meet your standards and satisfaction, so here you go." Sir, you had many people complaining, if you had any management skills you would have recognized thus and on a busy Friday night not been standing around while tables were not acknowledged for well over 10 min. It's not a secret your restaurant is...
Read more2023 Update: we where bless with having J.J as our server again. Like the last time she was the best. She recognized us and took great care of us. We had some nice drinks and appetizers end up taking the rest of the food to go. It was past closing time and did not want to feel rush not by J.J but my own responsibility of knowing that like me people wants to go home after a long day at work. Break down. I had the 20 oz bone in ribeye with shrimps and smothered with onions and mushrooms đ + 2 sides
My wife had the 12 oz ribeye with shrimps + 2 sides
The combo appetizers. 3 options
And 2 large frozen Margaritas with 1800.
Total $107.00 34.tip Grand total $141.00
2022 Update: Today we had a nice dinner everything was great server J.J was the best I had at this location. Thank you J.J
My family and I went for dinner. This is the 4th time we go here since it open. The first #1 time I felt ok they are new it just open it would be better. The second #2 time it was improved service not perfect but better. The third #3 time an older gentleman was our server much better. Now this last time a young maybe 22 years old guy help served us. And it was not good at all. First he was rushing us to order and then he was suggesting the lower price meals it could have being a genuine trying to help me save money deal. But I like to eat what ever I appetite. If I order steak he would finish my order with the smaller steak I order salmon the same thing. I had to keep correcting him. And after the food came to the table ( by the way under temperature) he comes back within 3 to 5 minutes suggesting take home boxes. Not even how is the food or nothing. And emediatly follow with here is your check. How about if I want a couple of drinks. The idea that because am a Hispanic Male I can't afford to pay for my meal and I won't take care of you as a server is totally wrong. This happens all the time. I want to know is it a trend that minorities don't tip well or can't afford to pay their bill. Or is this some kind of legend. I mean why do I have to deal with this all the time. The only place I never have this problem is at Burns steak house, Armani, Rustic Pelicans, Texas De Brazil, cheesecake Factory. I want someone to help me understand. What makes me feel worst is that it was a minority individual whom serve me. Any way this place is a...
