Tijuana Flats — Restaurant in Florida

Agh! Let me start by saying, I’ve eaten from Tijuana Flats for several years. Me and my family used to be regulars at the Sheridan street location in Hollywood, FL. I love this restaurant. Good food, good prices, nice family atmosphere, the hot sauce bar. Good stuff.

But, this location is not up to par. I’ve ordered from this location now about 5-7 times, and I’m not exaggerating when I say every single time there’s been a problem with the order.

I order curbside, and no one ever comes out. I order a meal and they forget the drinks. I order queso and they leave out the chips.

Literally, every single time I’m disappointed with my experience. I’ve given them the benefit of the doubt, and ordered again based on my past experiences with this chain. But I’m always disappointed.

Tonight I ordered food for my family, and was pleasantly surprised to find that everything was included when I double checked the bag for accuracy. But now, as I’m eating my vegetarian black bean bowl, I bite into beef.

(Sheesh, talk about first world problems.)

But seriously, when I spend my money I want to have an enjoyable experience, and that has simply never been the case for me at this location of TJ...

I came in for the mothers day free meal, I figured it was buy a kids meal get a free entree but it was just a free entree, no purchase necessary. Well, I was heading home from work, figured I'd pick up food for me an my daughter (I'm also very clearly pregnant, so mothers day certainly applied to me!) Cashier said it was for dine in only although on their specials it very clearly said dine in or take out. Whatever, no big deal. then I asked how large a specific entree was, cashier was obviously annoyed like she had something better to do rather than work. I was still trying to decide what I wanted, they weren't busy at all but cashier was still extremely rude. Got my order, there was no salsa and my side of rice wasnt there. The taco had more onions than anything, was going to double check my order when I assume the manager basically shoves me out the restaurant as I'm trying to organize my bag. I dont know what the issue was but I'm really disappointed with the customer service. I work in food as well and never complain because I get we all have bad days but the attitude of the entire place was just terrible, especially for the cost. I'll just go to taco...

Don't order off of their APP and expect to get your food.

I ordered food on their app at about 6:30pm for it to be ready at 7:30. I arrived about 5 minutes early and had to wait in line for about 15 minutes and when I finally got to the counter my food wasn't ready so I waited for another 15 minutes and then I notice all of the customers that were in front of me were already starting to get their food they just ordered. I asked again when I would get my food and was told they were still preparing. I then asked the girl behind the counter to call me when it is ready as I will wait in my truck. I finally gave up at about 8:05 and left and went home. They finally called at about 8:15 and said my food was ready!! I was already at home by this point and told them I didn't need it as I got tired of waiting.

And on top of all of that they charged me for the food...
