Tobias Burgers & Brew – Consistently Excellent and Worth Coming Back For
During my recent stay at Rosen Shingle Creek, Tobias Burgers & Brew quickly became my go-to spot for a great meal. After a lackluster (and overpriced) experience elsewhere in the resort, Tobias delivered exactly what I was hoping for: delicious, well-prepared food, solid portions, and friendly service—without the resort markup shock.
On my first visit, I ordered the Southern Fried Shrimp BLT ($17). It featured four shrimp that were thick & long, and perfectly fried in a crispy, flavorful batter. Combined with a hefty portion of pecan wood-smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo on a house-baked brioche bun, it was one of the best shrimp sandwiches I’ve ever had.
The next day, I tried the Slow Smoked Brisket Burger ($18), topped with barbecue sauce, fried onions, arugula, tomato, cheddar, and served on the same soft brioche bun. While the brisket burger was delicious and satisfying, the shrimp BLT still held the top spot in my book.
In fact, it made such an impression that before I left, I went back for one more round of the shrimp BLT—it was just that good.
Each visit, my meal (sandwich, fries, drink, and tip) came in under $30. For a large resort venue, this is very fair pricing, especially given the quality and portion sizes. The fries were consistently hot, crispy, and well-seasoned, rounding out each meal perfectly.
Tobias Burgers & Brew is a standout option at Rosen Shingle Creek. If you’re looking for a reliably great meal in a casual setting, you won’t be...
Read moreI visited the restaurant twice during my stay at Rosen Shingle Creek Resort. It is located in the main building Lobby level. I sat at the bar each time but it also contains casual seating in and outside the restaurant. The bar area is small but very cozy. My server Jay was excellent and fun to interact with, he made the experience more than just about eating and was the reason I visited the next day as well. The menu is relatively small but another restaurant recommended their Mushroom and Swiss burger and the Grilled Chicken sandwich so my decision was made before I entered the place. The truffle mayo sauce for the burger was simply sinful. I could just eat it by itself. The burger was cooked exactly as I ordered and very tasty and the chicken sandwich was more than my daughter expected. I didn’t want the fries that come with it and he substituted a side salad which was a good size and more than just lettuce and tomato and it came with a tasty lemon vinaigrette. The Malbec wine they offer hit the spot. For a resort I think the prices were reasonable. The sandwiches ran about $18 and the wine was $15 and was a healthy pour. I would hit this place up again in...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I stayed at shingle creek for the first time last night and decided to find a restaurant within the hotel for dinner out of convenience. It was late (nearly 10) and we were exhausted. After passing by the few remaining open restaurants and checking their menus we opted for Tobias Burgers and Brews and I am SO happy we did!! We ordered the loaded chips (which had the most delicious bacon on it ever) and each got a burger. These were literally the best burgers we’ve ever had and the fact that it was late and they were still able to give us fresh hot amazing food made our night. The restaurant was so cute and cozy and reminded me of a steam punked garage (fan boy points!) and there were phone charger ports on some of the tables which was awesome! We loved that the kitchen was open and you could interact with the chefs if you wanted to. Service was good and I will rave about these burgers forever. Looking forward to making another trip very soon! Five stars...
