We took our grand daughters to the Uno's in Kissimmee, Fl on Saturday, October 2, 2021 for lunch. We chose this particular Uno's because it was located between our home (Lakeland) and the American Doll Store in Orlando. This was supposed to be a fun lunch after their visit to the doll store. It was anything but!
The facility needs a serious cleaning, upgrade and significant customer service training. The front door was nasty and the door handle was taped together with electrical tape. The welcome map was extremely dirty. It looks as though it had not been cleaned for days. The floor needed cleaning and the table was sticky to the touch. (All of this should have been a clue)
We requested a table for our family, and we were offered one at the entrance. I asked if we we could be seated away from the entryway, as there was practically no one else in the restaurant. It was very apparent that my request irritated the hostess. She was neither friendly nor helpful. After a few seconds of awkward silence, begrudgingly she finally sat us at another table. She plopped the table settings on the table and walked away.
Our server came over and took our order and brought the drinks and food to the table. No further service was rendered until it was time to present me with the bill. Our grand daughters thanked him several times with no response. (What a great example to set for a 9 and 6 year old, NOT!) The service was far less than stellar.
The only saving grace is that the food was good, hence the one-star.
I have learned that if you receive great service a person will typically tell 1-2 people about the experience, however experience shows if you receive poor service, they will tell 10-20 people. Now I know why the dining area was empty. Sorry, but we will not visit...
Read moreVisiting area wanted pizza. However very dissatisfied with service and food.
Did curbside service with pizza, wings and dessert ($55). I order a brownie with what I thought came with ice cream for dessert. When I actually arrive for pick up the server Had me wait longer for them to prepare the ice cream so they didn’t have it waiting until I got there. Only to get back to hotel realize it wasn’t there. Called back and John apologize asked if I could return and pick up ice cream. I told them sure since this is what my daughter wanted. Manager Chris called me back (10-12 mins later) to tell me that the type of brownie I ordered did not come with ice cream. However I specifically asked for the ice cream with my order and they had me wait longer to prepare the ice cream. Only to arrive back without the ice cream and no explanation as to why. I just thought it was a little sneaky and unnecessary. If I had been told and not have me waiting in anticipation I wouldn’t be so taken back. Not a big deal except this is what my daughter wanted for her birthday dessert. So if the customer service had been better I could have overlooked the lack luster of the food.
Next food we order deep dish and thin crust. The deep dish was very doughy inside and cold. Which was very weird. The wings were bland but they were cooked so that was a plus. I just felt like they could have put a little more into the food and customer service since the restaurant was almost empty. During these time when places are closing you would think a business would do more to make sure their product and environment...
Read moreBesides the actual interaction with our waitress when she was around. I am only giving this place 1 star. We came into the restaurant party of 5 (2 adults 3kids)we were set at the table pretty fast so I'll give a point there. This is where it goes down from here. We were sitting and talking when I noticed we had not been checked on or offered drinks. By this time we are going on 15-20 minutes when I wait a few minutes before telling my friend to start a 5 minute alarm. In that time I see workers standing around even checking on other tables but no one even checked to see why there was no drinks at our table. Once the alarm went off I got up and went to find the lady that looked like she was a manager. She was busy so I went towards another man that looked like a manager he said he was and that he would send someone. Finally we get service she took our order and drinks. Drinks take another 10-15 minutes to come out. Food finally comes and they forget my daughters plate. I had to ask twice for it. Getting drink refills was like pulling teeth I had to ask the manager to bring more. I saw so many tables that just had plates sitting on them but workers standing around. I get it maybe they are short staffed. But the basics shouldn't be ignored. I still tipped because when the waitress was around she was pleasant. But the food was just ok and service...
