My family ate here today, and it was the worst experience i have ever had at a Cracker Barrel Restaurant. The hostess seated us was semi friendly. She dropped a set of silverware in the floor but never came back to give us a new set. We waited 10 minutes to get waited on, it took 40 minutes for our food to come out and when it came out the food was luke warm, one of the sides was incorrect, the biscuits were brought out hard and without the honey, jam, and plates as we had asked for, our waitress seemed to disappear and periodically show up waiting on another table, she never asked us how our food was, she never asked if we needed a drink refill. It was so cold in the dining area my arms and legs felt like ice. When we shopped in the store, we were looking at the Halloween items and an employee came over and was telling us about the jam on sale and went on and on and on about it. I told her that I'm sure it was good, but I don't eat that stuff. She finally got pulled away to do something else. I was looking at a Halloween item and asked another employee what the item did because it did not have any batteries in it to be able to turn it on and see what it did. All she kept saying was, it lights up, I can box it up for you, over and over again. I wanted to see what the item did before I bought it, so no, I did not want it boxed up, I wanted to know if it worked and what it did since there were no batteries in it. She finally got pulled away to do something else. When we checked out, the cashier told me about the delicious jams that were on sale and how you can spread it on your meats. She kept telling me over and over and over again how delicious it is even when I told her no thank you. Then the cashier at the next cash register started telling me how good it was. My gosh, I don't know how many times a person has to say no thank you before the other person will stop harassing you about it. I have had the store employees come up to me before and talk to me about an item but never to this extent. When someone says no thank you, that's their answer, there is no need to keep telling them about the product. I felt like they were so desperate to sell something. I felt like I really could not take my time to look at what they had...

Horrible experience. Waited 30 minutes to sit two people. cool. get inside, we are inside, where we wait another 5 minutes as three workers try to seat us, after the first one had said they’re clearing a table off… cool. we’re sitting, and given menus, told our waiter will be around… 5 mins goes by we get to order our drinks, another 5 we get the drinks cool. then we order, Two grandmas specials, 1 with all bacon, and an extra order of bacon… we wait about 20 minutes, out comes the food, but my pancakes are not there, and neither is the extra order of bacon… we’re told the extra bacon will be right out, as well as the pancakes, we wait and about 5 minutes goes by as we get a side of sampling (1 bacon, 1 sausage patty, 1 ham) 2nd ham looked worse than the first( and we didn’t ask for a second sampler plate) cool. so where are my pancakes? another 5 mins goes by and here they come, as i’m nearly finished with the rest of my meal that isn’t main course. waiter asks if we need more butter for the pancakes “yes sir “ we respond and get brought butter packets… we then see fresh pancakes flying by each one with dollops of butter on them.(ours originally didn’t come with dollops of butter) cool, total let down. then we finish our drinks and the waiter brings us water(if you know bout the water down here, you know.) no offer of a refill, and then walks away. we don’t see him for 10-15 minutes, and he’s walking around in the kitchen. i ask the front counter lady for a check and explain that it’s been a poor experience, im not taken seriously, i wait another 5 minutes for the check, i go and ask for a TOTAL, so i can leave money and head out… out comes someone with the check and a manager asking if i want a discount, NO, i want to leave as i feel im being held hostage at this point. they give me the check and tell me to pay at the front desk(literally after a table of 8 kids just got separate checks…) horrible service, food wasn’t even mid at best. and we didn’t see our waiter while the whole debacle...

I don't really have anything good to say except the food was edible and we ate it because we were hungry. Our server was Gwendolyn. We had a party of two with our baby who slept in her carrier. My husband and I are both servers as well and this entire experience was just really unsatisfying. My husband and I ordered two different things— he got the Oreo cheesecake pancakes and eggs, hash brown casserole and sausage. He didn't have a fork and he asked for one and she never came back with it so he had to ask for one from the host stand. His pancakes were cold and the cheesecake filling was cold too which I'm not sure if it's supposed to be but mixed with the actual pancakes themselves being cold it was just disgusting and he didn't eat them. It wouldn't have been saved with syrup either which is good I guess since we didn't even get any syrup offered to us. I ordered the creole shrimp and 10 oz steak with a side of baked potato and okra. But our server brought me broccoli instead of okra and then apologized and said I could keep the broccoli and then right when I went to eat a piece she came and took it away and said the kitchen said I can't have the broccoli or they won't give me my okra, which is disgusting if they planned on giving it to someone else because it was already on our table and I had already touched it. The steak was fine , the shrimp was unseasoned. The baked potato was sparse with all the toppings and I had to drown it in ketchup. By the time I got the okra I didn't even really want it. Our server came to ask if we wanted to go boxes or drinks and I said no and then she said "you look as tired as I feel." Like, thanks lady. Not really something you want to hear , especially after everything went wrong with your food. The manager discounted our food which is nice I guess but would've been better the pancakes were just taken off the check completely because they were gross and he didn't eat them. We won't be back. I suppose our time would've been better spent not coming...

Cracker Barrel in Sanford, FL, on Friday, March 14th. My party of eight was seated and assigned a waitress named Cathie, who was extremely rude and unprofessional. Throughout our meal, Cathie rolled her eyes when we made requests, slammed plates onto the table, and even yelled at one of my guests. This behavior was unacceptable and made our dining experience very uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the food quality was poor, which further added to our dissatisfaction. We chose Cracker Barrel expecting a welcoming atmosphere and good service, but this experience fell far below expectations. I hope you take this complaint seriously and address the issues to ensure future guests are treated with the respect and courtesy they deserve. April 5, 2025 I genuinely wanted to give Cracker Barrel another chance after a poor experience at a previous location, hoping it was just an off day. Unfortunately, my most recent visit—this time to a different location—only reinforced my concerns. I was served eggs that were visibly undercooked, with raw whites still pooling on the plate. While I appreciate that the staff corrected the mistake once it was pointed out, this marks the second time I’ve had a serious quality issue with your food. Consistency and basic food safety should be a given, especially at a restaurant with Cracker Barrel’s reputation. It’s incredibly disappointing to give a brand a second chance and walk away even more hesitant to return. I’m not one to complain easily, but at this point, I can’t justify another visit. I hope leadership takes a closer look at kitchen training and quality control to prevent this from happening to others.

I had not been to Cracker Barrel for more than two years, so my recent visit was a mix of curiosity and nostalgia. The first thing I noticed was the change in décor. The walls, displays, and overall layout had been updated, giving the place a fresher, lighter atmosphere while still keeping that signature country charm. The menu has also changed. Some items have been rearranged, and the design feels cleaner and easier to read. Personally, I think this is a positive change. It’s now simpler to find what you’re looking for without flipping back and forth. I was happy to see that my all-time favorite dish, the grilled chicken, was still there. It came with my go-to sides: green beans and coleslaw. The chicken was tender and flavorful, the beans well-seasoned, and the coleslaw fresh and creamy — just as I remembered. The dining experience itself felt reassuringly familiar. Cracker Barrel still offers that combination of comfort food and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Even though the décor and menu had evolved, the core of the experience remained unchanged. Our server, Brian, was excellent. He was attentive without being intrusive, and he made sure everything arrived promptly and as ordered. His friendly attitude and professionalism added to the overall positive impression of the visit. In short, while Cracker Barrel has made some changes, the essence of what makes it special is still there. For me, it remains a place where good food and warm service come together.

The food tasted delicious. But, so confused about who to see to get a table. There is a guy outside with an iPad, so stood waiting to speak to him while he took a long time to organize setting up a large table. Meanwhile, my husband was getting frustrated with the lack of awareness or acknowledgement and headed inside to the store. Outside guy came to the stand and rather than answering if he was the correct person to speak to about getting a table, started to tap on his iPad as though he was going to find me a table. Inside, hubby was waiting to be seated and had asked what the deal was with the guy outside and the reply was along the lines of "that's for large parties" - I think. Absolutely clueless of how you are supposed to know that as there are no signs, no arrows, and no clear feedback from the staff to explain this. Once seated and eventually ordered our food, the server seemed to have a 10 second memory as we had to ask a few times to get a refill on the coffee and each time it was as though it was the first time we asked. Silverware was an afterthought also, and when I asked for a box, it seems it exceeded the timescale of the servers memory as it never appeared, nor did she again, so had to go get one myself. But, the food was really good - the hash browns were some of the best we had and the pancakes were spot on (and great the following day too!). Would return for more but probably not this store as was disappointed with the lack of customer service.
