I worked for Waffle House for 5 years and now I operate hospitality businesses.
Our waitress was Hillary. This is Sunday morning, June 23rd 2019.
My girlfriend and I came in and placed our orders. Before we received our food Hillary asked if I needed a refill on my Sprite. She took my drink, filled it up, and then left it at the drink station so she could check out a couple next to us. She was MIA until she came back to drop off our food. I went my entire meal without a drink.
I figured it would be a teachable moment so when she returned with the check I asked her to take off the Sprite because I didn't get it during the course of my whole meal. I pointed to it at the drink station still sitting where she left it. She ran over to the glass of Sprite, lifted it up and asked if I wanted it to go. I didn't want to take a drink to go that I wasn't paying for. So I said no thank you just remove it from the check since I didn't get a drink.
For some reason Hillary thought the appropriate response was not to apologize or accept blame but to argue. She responded with, "But you did get it, you just didn't get the refill". This is laughable. I told her I only had some drink BEFORE my meal and it didn't accompany my meal at all defeating the purpose. She argued for a moment longer before defiantly rolling her eyes and finally took it off.
Let me make it clear in no uncertain terms. This experience sucked and she should absolutely be terminated. I have to work with employees on a daily basis, training and dealing in customer service. I should not come into an establishment and be excepted to deal with this attitude or to need to reason with someone about a mistake they made.
This is truly a shame because there was a nice older lady who checked me out and she was absolutely wonderful. The food was also good. However because Hillary decided to be a complete jerk and gave me honestly the worst customer service I've ever had I won't be returning to this location. She pushed me to the point where I left no tip, which was a first for me.
I recommend you stay away from here until management can correct this. I recommend surgical precision, cut the cancer out. She is untrainable and I know this from my many years in the hospitality industry. Termination is absolutely the correct move forward for any employee who argues and mistreats customers.
If you do come here avoid the morning shifts where this kind of attitude is tolerated. Go in the afternoon where you will have a significantly better chance at receiving, at least, barely acceptable customer service.

Read moreThis was our second time visiting. Three ppl on shift- cook and two waitresses. We weren't acknowledged when we walked through door. We sat down in a open booth waited about 5 mins and then we grabbed some menus that were sitting on a rack on side of booth. Waitress (mya, nya can't fully recall...short dark skin and very pretty beady eyes) comes over doesn't greet us immediately says you know what you want? Took our food order and then asked do you want something to drink (who eats a meal with nothing to drink and why is that asked last?) Waitress was less than happy, didn't give any mannerisms back (everytime one of us said thank you she just looked at us with a blank stare no you welcome) I didn't think she talked and was just shy until she was at other end saying thank you, you welcome and do you need anything else. She didn't really engage with us until she handed us check and we gave her a tip and asked for a to go box. Eventually guy with very neat locs comes in and starts helping the cook, which was good because it got crowded fast. Food came out and it was lukewarm even the grits. Maybe bring out the waffle if its done first or bring each playe out as its done...

Then had nerve to say she'd give us 90 cents of each order plus 10% which didn't even total the price of one waffle. When stated that we weren't paying for a waffle period not one cent. My spouse stated if police were necessary we could call them or a manager she proceeds to say "oh we can call the police that's no problem" she then called police who of course didn't come in end she ended up giving more off the ticket then what we were asking for because of getting her snippy little attitude. I would rather spend my money at a huddle house then to ever step foot in this place again. Food should've been free for 1. Never bringing complete order. 2. Never refilled our coffee. 3.
