First time here on the advice of a friend and after my visit, I think a friendship reassessment may be in order. Place is clean, server greeted me warmly and took my drink order while I looked at the menu. Coffee was good, fresh and hot. Server returned promptly to take my order consisting of 1/2 order biscuits & gravy, home fries with onions and a ham slice. Within 3-5 minutes my order was delivered and everything "looked" good. Here's where it took a dive...gravy from a can, was pasty and flavorless with bits of something made to resemble sausage. Good thing it was there because the biscuit was DRY and strangely after the first few bites the biscuit began disintegrating, so much so I could no longer distinguish biscuit from gravy. Very weird. The home fries, well...appeared to be chunky but were very mushy in texture and had no flavor whatsoever. Onions were steamed rather than grilled and just got lost in the mush. Ham slice was good portion, lean and flavorful. Bottom line I paid a decent price for breakfast ($18) resulting in a good cup of coffee and a good slice of ham while the rest was utterly disappointing. Read moreI understand this is a small diner and I am not expecting any special treatment or anything exceptional. But when ordering I advised I had an allergy and asked if the home fries were cooked in a shared fryer. Again, I’m not asking for a gluten free menu, just if one item is safe for me. I am not asking for a guarantee about cross contamination or anything off menu. I am only advising I cannot eat from a shared fryer, are the home fries cooked in a shared fryer. I was then informed nothing here is gluten free and they cannot prepare anything for me. I understand not everything will be for me and Celiac’s Disease is my problem, but I do think it’s a shame how this happened. I walked a couple doors down to Keke’s and had a much...
Read moreHorrible!! Ordered eggs and home fries I asked the waitress which happened to be the owner if there was any meet on the home fries, she replied no. While eating found a piece of ham on my plate. I got grossed out since I don’t eat pork and when I explained to her ,she quoted you got grossed out by a piece of ham? Very rude attitude! I got up went to counter to talk to her again and explain that to someone that doesn’t eat pork it is a big deal and that’s not the way to talk to a customer. She replied that she was the owner of the restaurant. Really? You the owner and have that attitude. Good luck to you. As restaurant owner you need to respect your costumers or maybe hire someone that can do the job...
