Bad experience. I've been going to Old St. Louis for about 40 years, my favorite. They're closed on Sunday, unfortunately. My husband has had Rice House before and liked them as a second choice. We placed our order at Rice House at app 6:30 today. Went to pick it up 10 minutes later. My husband told him he was there to pick up our order, paid for it, saw two orders being placed up, ready to go. He was told he had to wait. 15 minutes later they realized our order had been sitting there the entire time. Fine, at this point, we're mildly irritated but whatever. We get home, a 3-4 minute drive, I carry the bag to the house and the bottom falls out of the bag and all over our front porches we have rice, noodles, and all the other junk. Seriously? I called Rice House explained after the 10 minute prep time, we waited 15 minutes for an order that had been sitting there and by the time we got home 4 minutes later the bottom of the bag was so greasy it all fell through the bottom of the bag. After conferring with the Manager they agreed to replace our order. We drove back and our order was replaced. The "Manager" who also happens to be the owner, was there, no apology. For our time and trouble, we received a cookie and bottle of Vess soda, At 7:45, we can now eat. The food is mediocre, not bad, not great. What has happened to customer service/satisfaction? Having lived in Florissant for nearly 50 years, it is so sad to me that our local businesses prejudge their customers as people trying to get over, something for free. The last time I demanded a meal was free was 25 years ago, seriously. Side note: I've never had a bad experience, my food had never fallen through the bottom of the bag, never had to wait 15 minutes past the normal 10 minutes prep time, at Old St. Louis. To the owners of the Rice House, please do not respond to this negative review with a "call me, we'll make it right" message... you were in the restaurant when this happened. ...
Read moreI just ordered a half order of plain fried rice and a half order of plain noodles, and a whole order of turkey egg foo young with extra turkey and fried rice. That was a total of $30.29 worth of food. The driver gets here drops off the food, I look in the bag and my turkey egg foo young is not in the bag but they were all on my receipt, and the employee decides to write “Don’t serve anymore” on the receipt. I then proceeded to call the restaurant and ask them why didn’t they call me to let me know this and give me an option to order something else, the girl then proceeds to tell me, with a funky attitude “that nobody had time to call me back because she’s the only one working,” and at this point I’m thinking that’s not my problem and I know that you’re not taking orders and cooking the food, with as much money as these people are making there is no reason why there’s only one person working that counter, taking orders for those that are coming in and taking orders for those online or even mobile orders. This is why I stopped going there years ago because of the funky attitude of the workers and their sloppiness and there nonchalant attitudes when taking orders and preparing them. I made the mistake to give them the opportunity to get it right this time, I will never be going to this location ever again. Read moreCustomer Service was very rude we came in at about 9:20 with a party of close to 15 but once we got our food Candy a worker there was very rude telling our kids and another employee that we need to go in 5 minutes we have never been to a sit in restaurant where they put u out after u spent your $ and are currently eating I asked for the manager and at first she tried to tell me that there was no one above her she owned Rice House but when I preceded to let her know that I know the owners are Chinese then she explained that Kenny Chung owns it but she runs it from my experience with Asian and Asian American's they are very hospitable ,nice,friendly and whe it comes to their business and $ they are not rude which is exactly what I experienced tonight at the Rice House on Lindbergh close to New Halls Ferry right next door to a bar and grill I am very Upset because as a Black Family being served and treated by this by our own Sis truly hurts the kitchen staff did they thang Foid was Good But Customer Service was very rude and Poor I HOPE MR. KENNY Chung if she gave me the correct info reads this and disclipline's gos employees I shak contact you being that me My Family,Friends and Dance group patronize this restaurant o.
