ALDI — Local services in Florissant

I go to this Aldi located on Hwy 67 frequently. On 6/23/2023 at approximately 12:55 pm. I was in the self-check out. I planned to pay for half of my food with 2 different cards, so I had my food split up. As I paid for the items I put them in the bagging area and left the unpaid items in the box on the opposite side. As I was about to pay for the first set of items a Security Guard interrupted me and asked was I going to pay for the items in the box. I said, yes why are you asking me that. He ignored me at first and I asked again and said did you think I was going to leave it there. He said that he was just trying to make sure that I wasn’t about to steal. I thought that was a bit odd and inappropriate for him to approach me and state that he was making sure that I was about to steal instead of waiting to see the outcome of the transaction. I come to this store at least twice a week and never felt so harassed. I’ve never seen this guy before. The Security was a black male, light brown skin, short afro, about 6’1, slew-footed, a light blue uniform shirt, dark pants, with a backpack. This is the first time that I’ve seen him at this location. He might’ve been there before but he has never been there when I was there. I didn’t think until after I left that I should’ve address his approach and behavior to management. I’ve never had any issues with any of the staff, or security guards until today. The treatment that I received today was totally unnecessary. There is no need to to be harassing customers unless he is actually witnessing a crime taking place. Not based off what he thinks or that he’s speculating is about to happen but hasn’t. ...

EVER time I go to this place its only one line maybe 2. I get it ....Everywhere is short of help, others are on the floor stocking. But at some point when you see the lines down two aisle, and shoppers cant really shop because your in front of the products, why wont they open up other lanes to get customers 🤔 out. Don't get me wrong the cashier are fast and always polite to me when I have checked out, but omg...anyway stocking of the store has always been good to me, but never go when almost closing or an hour before closing, its seems customers just throw stuff everywhere and with you trying to bet time, you get frustrated cause what you're looking for is not there are somewhere else. Maybe just me...I have used there restroom and it was clean the 2x I used it. The store was clean. The prices are always good....just wish they had more things like Schnucks...

I’ve lived in this area for almost a decade and loved this Aldi and their friendly employees. More recently they seem to have a lot of turnover or have taken the great employees and out them at other locations. Now we’re left with a rude employee (possibly manager) who always has an attitude and seems to be biased. That’s my nice way of putting how she treats some customers! I did instacart and was in the store daily and shoooed a lot for home. Her attitude makes me not want to go into my neighborhood Aldi again! I was on the phone telling my sister how this manager or employee is always rude and has an attitude and the customer next to me added yes she is and someone needs...
