Update 5/20/23: went again with my son and remembered to take a couple pictures. I got the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup, and he got his favorite, the Dandan noodles. We split an order of soup dumplings, but I was so excited I forgot to get a picture of those. Seriously, this place is fantastic. If you're on the fence, don't hesitate! Go there!
Yummy Sichuan is my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant I've ever been to, and therefore by the logic of set theory, is also my favorite Chinese restaurant in Flower Mound. I've had a fantastic experience every time I've been here. Their arrival in Flower Mound was the answer to a quest I've been on for many years to recreate the experience I had in a hole-in-the-wall place in another state where I enjoyed the wholly unexpected "numb spice" sensation for the first time (I later learned this was the "mala" sensation unique to the addition of the Sichuan peppercorn, and now I'm addicted to it). I've had a number of dishes here, including the twice cooked pork, the dandan noodles, several of their dumpling options (especially the soup dumplings, which are fantastic!), the dry chili chicken (my favorite for that numb spice feel!), and pictured here, the Combination Dry Hot Pot. I've had other stuff as well that I've just forgotten, but literally everything I've had has been delicious. Why this place isn't packed at lunchtime is a mystery to me, but hey, that means less wait...
Read moreTried here twice and never again.. I ordered soup dumplings but can't drink the soup because just a slight touch with prongs/chopsticks and the dough is easily punctured so what a waste because of the lack in quality? I don't get it because the first time visit was fine..and then I tried the combo fried rice again but this time I only ask to hold off the green peas. Sadly caught me off guard that they can only tell me it can be changed to NO vegetables at all after getting the fried rice. No scallions and no carrots just because I asked for no green peas due to all the vegetables were just prepped altogether in a container today. Okay so you can't just dice like two vegetable ingredients then stir fry..all because I don't like green peas for today? It's like just the same amt of time and effort to serve it in any avg restaurant hours and it wasn't even a dinner rush for them. I gave them credit..I ate out here again because the beef in the fried rice didn't seem so oily and soggy compared to other Chinese restaurants that I recalled so I liked it for not being sloppy..but today with the fried rice and with their Beef low mein it was all just extra soggy and an unbalanced of oil cooked in it (you can clearly tell). Whatever, just eat here if you want SLIGHTLY decent menu prices and 10% discount if you pay in cash (wow..doesn't matter) for Chinese cuisine..this place is just another mid-tier restaurant in my...
Read moreOne word: Dysfunctional. Online ordering didn't work (found out when I got to pickup my order), the phone systems were down (always received a busy signal when calling but no one was on the phone at the restaurant), provided a 30 minute window after placing my order, after 40 minutes, I was given an non-confident additional 10 minutes. After this, I ordered from another Chinese restaurant and received my order in 12 minutes.
I ordered a soup, appetizer, fried rice and a main dish (not the largest order) online but had an issue paying. I tried calling and only received a busy signal after a number of tries. As I was provided a 20-30 minute window, I got to the restaurant to pickup the order around 25 minutes to hear the online system wasn't working. Also to note, no one was on the phone.
I ordered with the front desk and was given a 30 minute time. After 40 minutes, I asked about my order and the woman gave me a non-confident "10 minutes". I ordered from another Chinese restaurant in flower mound and my order was ready in 12 minutes.
I hope this is an isolated incident but if the owners see this, they can look at their process for...
