I was passing through after a long drive and having not had a bite all day when I saw this place from the highway/Lakeland.
The employee that took my order was nice, but my order was so wrong. As a first-time, my intentions were to split a #4 with someone — neither of us wanted CHEESE. I informed her, “I would like a #4 with no cheese and, instead of a drink, a cookies and cream milkshake.” Her response was, “So you don’t want sauce?” I looked back at the picture on the menu to the left of the order window and asked, “So that’s sauce, no cheese?” She replied, “It’s our special sauce, like comeback sauce.” So I said, “Oh okay. Well, you can put that on two of them.” She said that they could not split them like that, but she could do a combo #2 and put two sliders on the side with sauce. She said it wouldn’t be much difference in price. I accepted this.
I was handed the milkshake, and it wasn’t good-tasting, nor was it thick like a shake. Shortly thereafter, my name was called, “Hot sliders for Jae!” This was handed to me by another employee, so I asked her about the shake, “Is this as thick as your shakes are?” “Yes, ma’am. I guess it’s when we turn it because it comes out thick.” That made no sense at all to me, but I paused, said, “Okay…” and we left.
Unfortunately, upon getting into the vehicle and checking the food while my companion drove through the light (as we’d already left the parking lot and gotten back on 25), I saw that they ALL had cheese only—no sauce and no pickles! I checked the order slip on the bag and she entered the order completely wrong, like there was no effort. It just made me wonder why she mentioned sauce after I said, “no cheese,” and why she didn’t bother to correct me when I asked clarifying questions, “So that’s no cheese? It’s sauce?”
This was such a disappointing experience, and I was giving the 3.9 rating grace because they seemed new and still working out the kinks. I don’t think it was intentional, but considering this restaurant is fairly or very new, it should have been better communicated to me what was on the sliders, especially considering I asked direct questions concerning that. So I spent and additional amount of money ($5.38, excluding tax) for absolutely no reason, when all of the sliders were the same.
I can’t say yet that I wouldn’t give them another try because people deserve grace and, again, I don’t believe that it was intentional. It’s just extra disappointing because of personal factors. Of course, that’s no one else’s issue (and I never present or act as if it is; as a long-time customer service person, my attitude toward and treatment of service workers is never an issue), but I chose this restaurant after an extremely long day and they fell short. Stuff happens.
I am sure things will improve for them, and I may be back later down the line after they’ve had a chance to...
Read moreUpdate: It takes a really bad experience before I will write a review, but I also believe in communicating when things are done right. The owner did some research to not only verify my experience but took the time to figure out how to contact me. I will say he was very apologetic and truly appreciated knowing my experience. He has taken corrective measure and I told him I would give the location a second chance. I want to commend his due diligence and as promised, I am updating this review (he did not ask me to). I can comfortably say that though my initial interactions with the locations were horrible, people make mistakes and deserve the opportunity to correct them. The professional call and conversation leads me to believe this issue was addressed and provided a training opportunity for the staff. Tip of the cap, Matt G.
Mobile order scheduled for 11:48 am pickup, arrived 11:50 was told order not quite ready yet, gave me my drink and told me they would call my name shortly. Waited for 25 min and when I saw that people were getting orders after ordering after I arrived, I got back in line (5 deep). When I made it to the window, I asked about my order, it was just sitting on the shelf. I asked the young lady how long my order had been just sitting there while I was waiting on it, she replied "sir, I have a lot going on" slammed the window in my face. There's no food that could be good enough for that level of poor customer service. I will never patron this...
Read moreThis place has been insanely busy since they've opened several weeks ago, I'm constantly on the go and now add a baby to the mix, we don't have the patience to wait. Passed by here at about 4:30pm right before the dinner rush, there was still a line, but manageable with a screaming baby 😆
We got the 3 sliders, that included seasoned crinkle fries, and a drink. Upgrade that to a Biggie Smalls which is double meat, double cheese, basically upgrading your burger to a double cheese burger for $3.30 more ($1.10 each burger). We also got 2 regular sliders a la carte, an oreo milkshake, and a side of queso.
Simple, forward, all American cheeseburger with a slice of pickle. The patty tasted pretty fresh, like not previously frozen. Brioche buns were nicely buttered and toasted. Their two biggie small sliders is about the same size as one double cheeseburger at other fast food joints, so the 2 slider meal would've suffice. We're not usually sauce on a burger type folks, but I think this burger needed a touch more salt and sauce. Milkshake was great! Reminds me more of a custard rather than a super thick milkshake.
Now this is just my personal preference. I like my burgers a little more dressed, and there's none of that option here. I can get a similar burger with more toppings and comparable in price at Foundation Burger or Burgers and Blues. Overall, it was a good fast food, simple...
