Extremely disappointed with this restaurant. Ordered the 6 ounce Dallas Fillet Steak. Requested it be cooked medium plus. I asked the waiter if he was familiar with that terminology and he said yes & I was expecting a pink center cooked steak. When it arrived it wasn’t a filet and was very well done. The waiter totally agreed and took it back saying your order will be fast tracked and you won’t wait long for your steak. Waited longer than for the first steak, my husband had 3 bites of his steak left when mine arrived. Not our waiter delivered it & this person asked if it was cooked correctly. I cut into the center. It was rare & red. I replied “no” & said I requested “medium plus”. I wasn’t mad or angry I just wanted a steak I could eat. This person, whoever he is, was rude & said: “what is your idea of medium plus?” I explained my conversation with our waiter and this person goes into what a bad day he has had and the rules of cooking. My husband say we don’t need a lesson on cooking a steak. This guy takes the steak back and returns less than 2 minutes later, ask if it’s cooked correctly. I cut into the edge of the steak and it’s still red/rare. ( I truly believe it was not even put on the grill again). I said “no”. This made him angry. He raises his voice so everyone in the section could hear and is angry and going into his assertions of cooking a steak. He was extremely rude so I requested our waiter to bring our check & told him to forget it, take the steak back and have our waiter bring the ck. He then raised his voice even more and said ,”You raised your hand to me!” I had raised my hand in a quieting motion not being aggressive in any way. I just wanted to pay our bill & leave. When he made that threatening remark to me my husband told him to take the steak & shove it up his a- -. He started yelling & repeated that I had raised my hand to him, (which I did not!), repeated loudly what my husband had said and said “I want you to leave now, get out of my restaurant now! I again asked for our waiter & the check and to speak to the manager. He said I am the manager and I insist you leave now, get out, leave now!! He escorted us to the door & when I got to the reception desk she wasn’t waiting on anyone (the waiting area was packed with people)I asked her who the manager was & he rudely cut in on my request, raised his voice & told her not to speak to me and do not give me any information & again reiterated we leave the premises!! I have never been so degraded, insulted and embarrassed in my life. I will never set foot in that restaurant again. I am a local resident & will never recommend this restaurant to family, friends, or tourists. That person, whatever his name or position is, should be fired immediately. He has no professional or public relations experience & is a disgrace to...
Read moreBEST TEXAS ROADHOUSE EXPERIENCE EVER!!! From the way we were cordially greeted as soon as we walked in…..to my party of 4 being seated immediately even though they were packed out…..to how quickly our order was taken…..to how quickly we were served…..to the GREAT conversations my wife and I had with several employees…..to this pic I talked them into taking with me…..I was SUPER impressed with their customer service skills and efficiency even while distracted in conversation. They made something REALLY hard look really EASY. I could go on and on and still not adequately express just how great I felt leaving there tonight. It REALLY made my whole day. You see, my family and I just moved to Foley, AL and we’re literally staying at the Hampton Inn across the streets from TRH, until we move into our new house tomorrow, which is why we chose it OBVIOUSLY…..BUT it was the BEST choice we could’ve made because we’re now in a brand new place and don’t know anybody and have no friends BUT I felt like by the time we left…..we left with friends. I will now forever judge every Texas Roadhouse I go to EVER by the standards of this one. PERIOD!🙏🙌👏🫶🤙✌️😎 OH and by the way I want to give a quick shout out and name drop some of the employees that were so inclined to open up and have a real life conversation with me while there such as: Reka, Veronica, Kayuna, Kyla, Kiersten, Bre, Lil Jon etc…..AND you KNOW the pic just wouldn’t be complete without a Lil Jon in it! NOT the REAL LIL Jon BUT close enough for me (fyi- he’s the big guy standing behind me being)…..As Arnold Schwarzenegger once said “I’ll be back” well…..I will ACTUALLY be back to this establishment again and again and again. It was just, hands down, a welcoming and friendly environment, where we all were on first name basis’ upon our departure, their energy was electric and I felt at home. That’s what it’s all about folks!…..if you can’t be at home for an amazing meal you AT LEAST want to feel at home. And this place did that for me and my family in spades! KEEP ROCKING TRH FOLEY!...
Read moreI'm predisposed to not like chain restaurants, especially since we have so many good locally owned places within reasonable driving distance. And several of them have really good quality steaks! But you know what? This place ain't half bad. The food's a little more affordable than I was expecting, the service is very good and the atmosphere is inoffensively midrange.
I tried a sirloin and it was cooked the way I wanted, and didn't have a single bit of gristle or other inedible bits on it. I can't say the same of my dining partner's strip steak; it had an awful line of sinew running the length of the steak that made it a difficult piece of meat to enjoy. Another diner tried the country fried chicken and it got a hearty thumbs up. A big, juicy chicken cutlet with crispy breading was served with a nice gravy that was thick and a little peppery.
Sides were a more mixed bag, with the sweet potatoes being good with marshmallows and honey butter+brown sugar, but one diner's potato was missing a caramel topping. The other diner had mixed vegetables that were pretty bland and still pretty hard. They could have stood to be a bit more seasoned and cooked longer.
One other issue we did encounter is some of the food items were not up to proper temperature. The gravy was cool as was one of the steaks. They also don't seem to season steaks well enough for my preferences.
The real highlight was the service, which was excellent. It seems all the good servers in Foley have found a home here. They also have wireless kiosks at the tables so you can pay with a card or phone without giving it to a server, which is nice.
Overall, better than I was expecting. I can see why it's been so insanely popular since opening, and I begrudgingly admit that it can hold its own with our beloved local places. The early bird menu has some decent values on it, too, so it's worth going a little early to both beat the crowd and save a...
