Patron of Cracker Barrel over the past year my experiences and stars have withered away. The wait is similar to a five star Restaurant with the quality of one of those 24 hour bad diners. Wait staff used to see someone that was clearly looking for a server for help and fill the void. The focus is clearly get as many people seated and out while politely telling us repeatedly to take our time no rush. The wait from being on the waiting list to getting food was 92 minutes another 1-2 minutes for something to eat with. Ihop at least dropped off a carafe for coffee empty cup x2 people 3-4 times. Now for the food three people seemed ok with the order while I tried to get something I could eat and asked for the tomato on the side so I could possibly remove seeds. It was prepared evidently prior to the day because it could not be done. Which really makes me wonder if the food prep allows for no dietary restrictions why does it take so very very long for food. Ps your wait staff is being diverted to swamping or clearing tables and atleast ours needs extensive training to do the job to standards that were better prior to 2019 possibly. I recommended coming but really should have read my last review of 3 stars. Hope the whole chain isn’t following this trend because declining quality with longer wait times are qualities of closed door business. Ps ranch dressing should not be used to cover overcooked and burnt food. No need to reply to this review like last time that time should be used to train and focus on quality over quantity and decide if your a bad fast food restaurant or a family restaurant that needs to slow down for food quality. Allow servers paid training and hire buss people to keep the flow. I have paid for so many meals and reviewed many of them. I like giving good reviews when earned. Unfortunately that is becoming less common...
Read moreIt was just my husband and I. Aside from his being hungry we were in no hurry. But I am in the habit to being aware of time. Despite not being at all busy, it took over 5 minutes to be seated, took close to another 10 for server Lexy, to appear. She was very pleasant, on her rare interactions, Food took AGES, then when arrived my husband's breakfast was just warm and although he had ordered extra bacon he was disappointed it was so thin., My turkey and dressing was cold. Plate and food. For the first time ever, despite Lext protesting it 'had just been taken up" I sent it back to be reheated. Took another over 5 minutes to be returned to the table. Food was pretty awful. Bland sweet potato casserole, (no vanilla, cinnamon or sweet) dressing was wet and grainy (more like lose grits), fried okra tasted like freezer, turkey was incredibly dry (I pretty much expected that so not a huge deal) obviously, overall a really poor meal. By the time my food had arrived my husband was nearly finished so I just boxed mine up for the poodle. We normally tip 20% but I have to admit the 15% was over tipping. The cashier was busy with stocking, but did finally see the man waiting in front of us. When my husband commented on the quality of food, Pickle offered to get a manager but by then we were pushing our schedule and patience. Frankly, I was so disappointed I just wanted to leave. I thought a lot about just letting it go but finally decided when this request for a review popped up, you may like to know from a loyal customer's viewpoint. It is really rare we we do not enjoy a meal with you. Based only on yesterday's performance we would never return, but we will likely just try again but avoid the meal I ordered. Read moreTook my friend to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. The business was really busy, we put our name on the list, and went into the shopping area, which is loaded with Christmas ornaments, blankets, figures, tree ornaments, wall decorations, music, and people Our name was called, and we proceeded to our seating area. We were served a beverage quickly, and out meal in about 12-15 minutes. I had biscuits an gravy, with a dude if candy apples. My guest hard hash browns, a couple eggs, over medium, and we both had H20 for our beverage. We had already had our coffee earlier. Both meals about 15-19 $. Service, value, food, time served rated my 5 ⭐.
Update 01/01/2023 Had the opportunity to have breakfast with my good friend; she chose Cracker Barrel, because she had to have Pecan pancakes; which she did with cheese hash browns, coffee; this made a perfect breakfast for New Years Day! I had biscuits, gravy, patty sausage, coffee. This meal was my choice because of my Southern roots. The meal tasted like my Mamas from years ago, growing up on the Ranch in Mississippi. We were served by Laura, a 4 ⭐ young Lady. Laura actually performed a 5 ⭐, with her on the spot service, attitude, consistently checking on our needs, if any. She refilled our coffee, water, and asked; " is there anything else you need", now folks, that's good service! Upon leaving I noticed a big RV in the rear parking area. No wonder a lot of RV's love Cracker Barrel! My Wife(lost her 5 years ago) and I traveled a lot coast to coast, and Cracker 🍘 was always our choice when traveling. It's located right off McKenzie across from Lowe's. Easy in and out because there is a light at the intersection! Go there, I'm sure you will find your choice of...
