I must say, I was expecting an EXCELLENT supper, given my past experiences with the Foley Whataburger. However, my third supper time and ABSOLUTELY Last visit, it was revealed that my closest and most beloved Whataburger has been overrun by young immature arrogant clowns. A guy should be able to expect that when he spends more than $20 on a meal at a F A S T F O O D restaurant that what he has ordered will at least be prompt and at a satisfactory temperature when he receives it……..ESPECIALLY when he uses the company’s own app to help streamline the process!! Arrived approximately 5 minutes early, only to be forced to wait 45 minutes PAST my pickup time to receive my food. No big deal, we all have our off days, right! Well, when I requested the young fellow, who FINALLY acknowledged the obvious new trainee requesting help at the window, for some fresh fries as I’d been forced to wait an extremely long time past my pickup time he rudely snatched back my order and walked outta sight mumbling sarcastic and childish remarks. He returned and handed me my order with I’d presumed fresh fries and asked me if I needed any ketchup, to which I replied 3 spicy which I had included on my original order. I had forgotten about the buffalo whatachicken bites I’d ordered. Any who, he packages them, EXACTLY 3, in a small bag and sends me off. I stopped to be sure I had everything as the last visit I had been jipped and order of fries. Found out that the ranch packets I’d requested for my whatachicken bites we missing. The line by now has wrapped around the joint and spilled out into Hwy 59, and NOT because it is popular mind you, so I pull to the front door as no one else could park there if they’d wanted to. I ran in and waited for another presumably new trainee to assist a lady trying to order for at least 10 minutes. After he’d assisted her, he politely asked if he could help me and I advised I’d just come from the drive through and was missing my ranch dressing. He advised they were outta packets. So I asked if there was absolutely NO Ranch available and a lady behind me who was still awaiting her order advised me they were sold out. I cain’t believe it was not possible to get even a salad package of ranch from there! OH!! Got home and my freaking fries were like ICE! WORST Whataburger experience in my life!!! This establishment was very dear to me ask I frequented it after both my youngest daughter and son’s births and gotten them little Whataburger paper hats. WAY TO RUIN IT FOR ME...
Read moreThis Whataburger has the absolute worst service I have ever experienced in a restaurant. My family and I were here for a week for vacation, and we came to this location four or five times while we were here (we love some Whataburger!).
Every time I came here I submitted a mobile order. I would submit the order 10-12 minutes before I arrived, and I would have to wait for my order inside for another 15-20 minutes each time.
Today, as we were heading out of town, we stopped to get breakfast one more time. I submitted my order 20 minutes before I arrived, and I waited at least another 20 minutes inside before my order finally came.
The ice machine was broken the entire week. I would have to wait at the counter to get more ice, and I can’t even count the number of workers who would walk right by me and not even acknowledge me.
As I waited for my food today, there was a man waiting at the counter for the entire 20 minutes I was there and nobody helped him at all. At least three families came in and stood in line, then left when they saw no one was helping anyone at the register. The number of workers who walked by the register and completely ignored the people waiting in line was unreal. Even managers would walk by and not stop to help people.
When I finally got my food, half the order was cold.
This Whataburger location does not care at all about customer service, and they are extremely inefficient when it comes to getting food out in a timely manner. The management is obviously incompetent, and the incompetencies trickle down to the lowest level of employees.
We come to Gulf Shores every year for Thanksgiving, and sadly I will not be able to enjoy Whataburger anymore when we come. The service here is too unbearable, and despite how good the food is, it isn’t worth my time to wait like I had to do each...

I truly wish this location could figure out their efficiency issues. I have waited, on average, 25 minutes anytime I get in the drive through line. The fastest I’ve made it through is 20 minutes, the longest, 47. I have made a point now, whenever I do have a Whataburger craving, to start my stopwatch and time how long it takes. Longest single vehicle order fulfillment that has held up the line was 17 minutes. SEVENTEEN!!!!
Typically there are 11-15 cars in line whenever I join it. I have tried going at all hours to attempt to get quicker service but it’s an exercise in futility.
I do not understand what goes on in the kitchen there, if they’re short staffed or just inefficient, but this location needs help.
To their credit, all the employees I have encountered have been wonderful. They’re cheery and nice. And the food always hits the spot.
Although their method for the drinks should be altered. They will have the counter window filled with drinks on either side waiting. The problem with this is that they also fill the milkshakes at the same time. With the excessive wait times, that milkshake turns to liquid, those other drinks turn heavily diluted. I’ve stopped ordering those because of this issue.
This is the slowest location of any I’ve been to and it never gets better. They used to have Curbside Pickup but I think that snared their operations even more so they disabled it as of this writing. Folks who do order inside have also been known to wait over a half hour to get their order and this is for dine-in! I witnessed it with others and also experienced it firsthand and that’s why I mention it.
If any Whataburger management happens to read this, please help identify how you can make your operations more expedient. You’re losing a lot of business...
