El Paso was our default location after our first choice of restaurant probably had an hour wait (on a Monday, no less). On the way to our second choice, we found out they are closed on Mondays. So not wanting to drive all over town, we decided to give El Paso a try. This was our first time dining here. My wife ordered carnitas, I ordered bistec and the only thing our grandson wanted was cheese dip and a side of rice. Overall, I can say that our food was good (bistec steak was a bit tough). The only problem was evidently a language barrier. My grandson's "rice" came to the table as "fries". My wife asked for her sour cream and guacamole on the side. It was served that way but we also got an extra order of guac and sour cream that we didn't order. I didn't let these minor mistakes taint my ratings, but when/if we dine here again, I will make sure I do a better job of communicating my order.

El Paso Grill is located on hiway 59 N in Foley, Alabama next to hobby lobby. Very clean and friendly service . Ample parking and wheelchair accessible. Plenty of areas to sit for large or small parties including a covered outdoor area and a full service bar. The menu has a variety of Mexican dishes I’m sure you’ll enjoy. I was immediately served chips and house made salsa which was tasty. I sampled an Al a carte cheese enchilada and a chicken taco in a corn shell served American style with lettuce, tomato, and cheese. You can also have it served street style with cilantro and onions or on flour tortillas. The enchilada sauce was in- house made with a slightly sweet back note. Very delicious. They also serve a variety of cocktails, beer,( domestic and imported) and wine. Also they have frozen daiquiris and margaritas on tap. El Paso was recommended to me and I will go back. Ole!

The reason I gave 3 stars is because one of the workers sat on a stool, and it broke under her, and her coworkers had a great laugh. I know it's hard not to laugh when someone falls but these people walked away laughing, one of the more beefy guys walked away from her not offering to help but had a disgusted look on his face then went back over to check the other stools to make sure they wouldn't break. A manager walked away laughing. I didn't see the girl again and hope she was ok and not too embarrassed, especially by her coworkers. After waiting a very, very long time our food came out, mine was cold. Our waitress saw me not eating, and when I told her why she insisted on fixing it, that's where the 3 stars come from. Our waitress was great!

Alright so, first off when we walked in no one was following the mandatory 6 foot distance and many of the employees failed to properly wear their PPE. Many of the workers that wore their masks were either moving them off their face constantly or wearing ones that only covered their mouths. The purpose of employees wearing a mask in this situation it for the protection of their customers and they are failing to do so my not covering their mouth AND nose. This is a major breach in proper use of PPE. Secondly, the inside of the restaurant was so rank that we decided to eat outside (the only reason we decided to eat here was that it has the shortest wait and now we see why). Next on my rant is the fact that their menu offered many items that, according to their staff, they never have served. They brought my father the wrong drink and served me cold food. Not only was my quesadilla a sad folded tortilla of disappointment, it was cold too. The ate was piping hot as were the refried beans (thay were obviously from a can) and rice. My quesadilla consisted of a cold tortilla with a little of cheese melted on the bottom with cold hard pieces of steak thrown on top. And when I flagged down my waiter, she was very kind and listened to me and took it back to the kitchen to get me a "new" one. The manager returned less than a minute later carrying my plate. They had microwaved the quesadilla and slapped on some nasty queso over the meat. It was truly disappointing to have received the same meal microwaved like that. I do not blame the waiters in any way since they are not responsible for keeping the cooks in line, that's the job for management. Management that obviously believes in microwaving old food and serving it as fresh. We were all dissatisfied with the food we were served, I've never written a review before and I hope you found...

Everything about the improvements are spot on and much appreciated. Such a better atmosphere! I especially love the bar and the multiple TV's. Love the improved customer service too. You don't have to pay upon exiting and servers now collect table side. And a special thanks for all the improvements to the food. Higher cuts of steak that you don't have to chew to swallow. Larger, tastier shrimp, more tender chicken. My favorite menu improvement is something I have wanted all along...fresh Seafood, In a restaurant down along the coast, offering fresh seafood is a must and now there are multiple choices including my favorite, Ceviche! If you want the old menu items go to Valarta(Santiago's 2nd restaurant) just north of El Paso on HWY 59 next to Winn Dixie. It is still the same and nothing has changed. But if you want better quality all the way around go to the new and improved El Paso! I am so proud and happy for Santiago's accomplishments . I have been following him for over 20 years from his original restaurant he started in downtown Foley turning an old convenience store into his first establishment back in 1997. I have probably eaten in his places once a week ever since and look forward to many more years of the new and definitely improved for the better El Paso. I think all the improvements are more than worth the minimal increase in the menu prices. Since the quality has gone up tremendously it is well worth it! I am always about paying for Quality over Quantity. It is healthier and better for you! My advice is start with the new Loco's Nachos with succulent grilled Shrimp, tender Chicken Breast strips and the most delicious Steak! I'ts incredible! and such an improvement over Nachos you can find anywhere else! Then move on the to some seafood and you will have one of the best Mexican dinners on...

My friends and I eat here quite often, a few times a month at least. We are all in the restaurant industry and are very understanding people because we know what working in a restaurant is like. We love Fernando as we have had him as a server at Vallarta as well and then at El Paso. He’s fantastic. Today we had Cobi. This wasn’t the first time he’s been our server, but it’s been one too many times when we’ve had terrible service from him. Before our food even came out, he passed our table by a couple times and we are sitting there with empty cups and we had to ask him for refills. Another server brought our food out, but they forgot my pico de gallo, so I figured I’d wait until our server came to check on us to ask for it then. We did not see this man for almost 20 minutes after we got our food. Someone in my group wanted to place a to go order and had to flag down another server to place her order, meanwhile I still hadn’t gotten my pico de gallo and I got tired of waiting for my server to come check on us, so I had to flag down ANOTHER server to ask for some. He finally comes out and at that point we are all just ready to go. I asked for a box and a drink to go. He brings the box and an empty to go cup. I’m looking at my cup with just ice left in it wondering what he expects me to pour in the to go cup, so I ask again if he can bring me a tea to go. I don’t like to complain, but this experience was just ridiculous. I don’t think we will be back to this location. I could understand if they were busy, but I’m pretty sure we were his only table for a while before he got another one, unless he just never made a point to visit any of his other tables either because we didn’t notice him talking to anyone else until after we’d ordered our food. It’s a shame because the food is amazing, but service...
