If you’re looking for a truly special dining experience in Folsom, you have to check out Fourk Kitchen. This spot is reservation-only, which already makes it feel a little more exclusive and trust me, it’s worth planning ahead. The space is super intimate with just a handful of tables and some counter seating, so it feels like you’re part of something a little extra special the moment you walk in.
What really makes Fourk shine is how thoughtful the menu is. Chef Jesse curates a new menu every month based on what’s in season, and you can tell how much passion goes into every single dish. We went for the April menu, and honestly, everything we had was incredible — but the Wild Mushroom Risotto absolutely stole the show for me. Creamy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced… I’m still dreaming about it.
The portions are generous without being overwhelming, and each course was beautifully paced. New owner Shelbie was so warm and personable too… you can really feel her energy helping elevate the whole experience. I also love that she’s giving Jesse the freedom to create, because it’s...
Read moreFourk Kitchen in Folsom is a hidden gem and a great dining experience without having to trek to Sacramento. This is a 4 course prix fixe dinner. There is only one seating and everyone is served in unison. We all had the same first, and second course...and desert. We had a choice of main courses (which I heard was new). There were 2 steak dishes (a sirloin and a New York) and then a duck breast. All 3 had different price points. I went with the duck at $85 and was not disappointed. Absolutely tender and flavorful. I can't forget to mention the second course which was a corn chowder, but not like any corn chowder I've ever had...this stuff could be addicting. If you're looking for a fun little night out, try this place. It's not stuffy and there doesn't appear to be a dress code (most people were closer to business casual). It did run us a little over $100 each, but we had great cocktails and spent a little over 2.5 hours there (they have happy hour that starts at 5:30 and serve dinner at 6:30). Highly recommended...can't wait to go...
Read moreI'm giving three stars because this place is nothing like how it's made out to be. The food was decent quality but there is not a single thing about this place that says "fine dining" even though that is how it's being advertised. The staff drink on the job, and it shows. They were crude and had trouble keeping track of what they were talking about, also sharing inappropriate experiences that they have outside of work (e.g. getting drunk and swimming naked with each other). However, staff was friendly and our server was fine.
The food was....okay. Our main course was a burger with potato chips, so we were very disappointed. Not because the meal was bad, but because we were anticipating a more upscale meal.
Our dinner was interuppted twice for story time with staff. They call the attention of everyone in the restaurant. The first time, it was sort of neat. But the second time, it was annoying and we felt like we were being held hostage. We just wanted to pay and leave at that point. The whole experience...
