5/5 Stars and more!
A True Taste of Mexico!
We are still reeling from the incredible dining experience at Riviera Maya Mexican Bar and Grill! Outstanding service from the time you hit the door! Every bite was a flavor explosion that left us craving more.
Our standouts for the 5 plus stars of the show were:
Flautas: Crunchy, golden perfection filled with tender chicken and served with a side of creamy sour cream. -Pico de Gallo: A symphony of fresh flavors - juicy tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, cilantro, and lime juice - all perfectly balanced and bursting with freshness. -Tacos: Soft tortillas wrapped around generous portions of seasoned beef, chicken, or pork, topped with a sprinkle of cilantro and a squeeze of lime. Talapia: Pan-seared to perfection, with a delicate crust giving way to tender, flaky fish that simply melted in my mouth. Salsa and Guacamole: Made with ingredients so fresh, they tasted like they were plucked straight from the garden. The salsa's subtle kick and the guacamole's creamy richness were addictive! Horchata and Passion Fruit Drinks: Refreshing, sweet, and utterly delightful. The horchata's cinnamon notes and the passion fruit's tropical flavor were perfect complements to the meal.
The portions were generous, and the prices were more than reasonable. We left feeling more than satisfied, with a newfound appreciation for authentic Mexican cuisine.
Thank you, Riviera Maya, for an unforgettable culinary journey! Your commitment to using only the freshest ingredients and traditional cooking methods shines through in every dish. We can't wait to return and indulge in more of your delicious...
Read moreI personally would rank Riviera Maya as my favorite Mexican restaurant in Fond du Lac, which is saying something. We have a pretty good number of Mexican restaurants in the area, but this is what I'd choose.
I've eaten in and done takeout, and have had good experiences with both. The staff is friendly and helpful, the food is delicious (I usually get the beef tongue tacos), and the atmosphere is pretty good. It's a little crowded, but that's not a bad thing, and it's really the only issue I have. They are very popular, so a few years ago, they expanded the building, but it wasn't enough even then. Currently, they are doing a second expansion, both to the building and the parking lot. I am very much looking forward to seeing it complete, with a little more space.
Pricing is pretty good, too, especially once you factor in sides. A meal with tacos/quesadillas/flautas/etcetera, comes with rice, beans, lettuce and tomatoes, and toppings for about $13-$17, depending on what you buy, as well as chips and salsa on the table. You won't leave hungry, trust me. You can certainly spend more money, especially if you start adding drinks, desserts, specialty meals, etcetera, but for a basic meal with a soda or horchata, you're looking at about $20 per person or less. We ordered takeout without drinks for 4 people, plus cheese dip, and it was $67, including tip. We got a taco salad, a couple types of taco meals, and a quesadilla meal. It was delicious, and we had leftovers. Well, I didn't, but my stomach was bursting. I probably SHOULD have had leftovers. 😅
TL;DR: Good food, always busy, decent pricing,...
Read moreThe restaurant’s customer service is very bad, some of the worst I’ve experienced. The food was actually not that bad. We had ordered ahead of time and went to pick up our food. We waited for over 20 minutes at the drive thru but no one came to help us. And there was no good way to get the attention of any of the employees either because of the placement of the drive thru window. Finally after some struggle with getting the attention of the employees, the manager came out. However it was clear that she was not in a happy mood. And it was clear very quick that the attitude of the manager was not adequate for customer service. The manager was very rude and didn’t even tell us if our food was ready or not. We politely asked how much longer we had to wait but they would give no clear answer. After we got out food, one of the employees said: “no more”, perhaps saying that we weren’t welcome at the restaurant anymore. This was the deal breaker.
The restaurant is a good place for decent food, however the problem that holds this restaurant down is the service. If they fix the service, this restaurant will be a great place! Hope they consider this review and the other negative reviews and try and improve the place. In the mean time we will get our delicious Mexican food from else where.
Hope this...
