T.J. Maxx — Local services in Fond du Lac

We have had nothing but rude experiences at TJ max, I’m a service dog handler and trainer and they claim to be pet friendly. Any time we have had our dogs working (in a vest not just a pet) in TJ max in fond du lac a manager has came up to us and harassed up or threaten to remove the dogs as some of them bark to alert to seizures or medical episodes. As well as service dogs do not have to be on leashes if it interferes with a task and they saw we dropped the leash for some work and instantly ran over to tell us we couldn’t do that and refused to learn the laws when offered to show them. I also have been yelled at that we couldn’t have the dogs in there as someone was allergic, then why be pet friendly if you are kicking out service dogs that can be in there even if you are not pet friendly. I respect allergies and will gladly take my service dog to the other end so that person can look at items. As a service dog handler these dogs can go anywhere with us and being pet friendly we thought they would be a great place to train but it’s absolutely the opposite. I will never take my service dogs back to train there due to treatment and won’t support buying things from there anymore. So disappointing that we have been harassed my multiple managers now. Visited this store yesterday in looking for gifts for a male friend. It was my daughter and I and all was well until we were back near the home goods section. We were minding our business looking at knick knacks and here comes a worker ACTING as if she’s looking for something. She stood there oddly and I moved out of her way and she stood on the other side of me and radioed in saying “I don’t see anything.” Because I’m black I’m used to be being discriminated against I know AP (asset protection) or whomever must have to her to check on the ONLY AFRICAN AMERICAN PEOPLE in the store. I’m tried of being followed in stores this is one store that will no longer get any business from me. Then I get to the check out and the cashier tries to make small talk…save us both and let’s not speak do your job so I can go. I make over 90k a year and I’m a homeowner with TWO cars I don’t have to steal from TJ MAXX or any store I HAVE MONEY!!

You all should consider going into stores undercover and seeing how black shoppers are discriminated against. It’s not a nice feeling. I don’t want anything from you all so don’t offer me anything. The way you make a person feel...

I absolutely love the health and beauty section. I just feel like they had a way better selection and variety of better stuff, especially in the clothes departments for women and kids. I dont like a lot of their clothes anymore and the prices have definitely increased too. Only thing I like are their blankets variety and sheets and really most everything is good still except for the clothes. I used to see Ed Hardy and Juicy Couture there a lot. Now it's always the same things. I used to go there for shoes too and they dont have anything I like there anymore. What happened to all the good inventory and why isn't there more of a different selections for clothes? They used to also have good books and more creative things to do and I have been trying to find the tea cups they used to have and can't seem to find a good tea cup anymore.
