I have never had been discriminated/profiled and embarrassed at a restaurant like this before! I went in to watch the fight in the bar area with my nephew and a friend. I was told by the waitress who would later serve me that we could take a seat at the booth near the projection screen. I noticed by reading the happy hour menu that we missed the first wave of happy hour by 20 mins, but there would be another that would start at 9pm until close. Knowing that information I figured we could stay in budget by just ordering soft drinks until 9pm when the next happy hr started since I'd probably stay until then anyways because fights tend to last past then. While I my group watched the fight and minded our own business we were harassed by our waitress who kept asking us if we planned on ordering more to which I kindly reminded her each time that we would wait until happy hour to order more. She began to have attitude with me and I just blew it off because my attention was on the fights. Next thing I know the manager comes to my table and tells me I have to order food if I wanted to sit at that booth and would not accept my plan to order later because the owner made the decision. Since I had company and just wanted them to leave me alone I held my anger and ordered a small pizza that I would share with my nephew. My buddy wasn't to hungry yet and declined to order. Since I felt I met their demands I thought it was over and we could enjoy the rest of the night until the owner and manager came to my table and informed me that I needed to spend at least $60 now to stay at the table, to which I scoffed at of course. I couldn't believe this was happening and ask the couple sitting behind me if they had been asked to pay that ridiculous amount to which they became shocked and denied any knowledge of such a thing. While the owner and manager continued to bully me into basically paying for the pay-per-view event on my own and tell me that since other restaurants usually charge customers a fee, the other customers and staff were noticing the commotion and looking our way and it became a huge scene. All I could think was that this was some scene on Kitchen Nightmares and these people were staff from the infamous Amy's Bakery in Phoenix, Az. I didn't even get much chance to say anything else before the owner and manager told me that I didn't have to pay for the drinks I consumed or the pizza that I had yet received but that we needed to leave. I was furious, but I knew that if I wanted to go somewhere else to watch the main events I needed to leave right then, so I did just that and watched the fight FOR FREE at D&B's where nobody disrespected me in such a fashion. I will NEVER come to any Boston's restaurant ever again and I hope that more people will see this review and stay far away from that place. I believe that since I seemed of lesser class due to my attire and asking to wait to order that I was not going to tip or order any food. I don't think this was racial since the manager was black and had a very African-like name and the owner looked to be Asian. I don't seek anything from this but to speak the truth and let others know of their shady practices and not give them their business so that they may eventually close up shop and we can get a better establishment worthy of our...
Read moreI came in November 8th and really didnât want to leave a bad review, since Iâve working in the food service industry and I understand how busy Friday nights can be hectic and draining, but honestly I donât think it can come close to excusing the service.
The waitress seemed confused, and despite me asking for a shot of vodka three separate times and even trying to send back the wrong order, she insisted and gave me a shot of whiskey I did not want and charged for a glass because she said it was the same price. I had asked for the galaxy fishbowl, and this was actually my second time coming and trying to get it since the first time at this location was horrible, and Iâm so glad I got a picture of it this time because just look at it! Itâs not in a fishbowl (a detail I asked before ordering and was falsely told it would be in one), and it looks just like grey sludge.
All I asked for was the galaxy cocktail and a shot of vodka. Despite trying to send it back, the waitress left me with a mason jar of grey gunk and a shot of whiskey that again, I told her as soon as it came out that I wanted vodka, and I have no clue why she was so dismissive and unfocused, she seemed almost annoyed and in retrospect Iâm upset I even tipped at all for tolerating my multiple attempts at correction being brushed off and paying for something I never wanted.
Other than that, the food is so-so, quite expensive for what I could visually tell was the exact same pretzel bites at Costco and moldy broccoli that tasted funky. Someone else mentioned the lack of napkins; this is completely true, which wouldnât be too big of a deal normally since we could just ask for them, except the annoyed waitress kept avoiding us whenever we tried to get her attention.
The next day I made myself a purple cocktail using the same ingredients they list for theirs, and put in edible luster dust to see if itâs a color combo thatâs doomed to fairâ nope. Mine came out pretty, sparkly and a light purple color. I am baffled by what mustâve been in my drink, and considering the pictures this restaurant posts of their âfishbowlâ (aka Mason jar) galaxy cocktail, part of me is even a bit worried the waitress purposely butchered the drink. If not, then it is just shameless false advertising.
Needless to say, I will NOT be giving the galaxy cocktail a third shot. It was literally the only reason I tried this restaurant out the first and second time, this second time being only because I thought they mightâve just messed up the first time.
But no. Itâs clear that the Fontana location is just like this. The waitress was dismissive and ignored my order multiple times and made me pay for things I didnât want and tried to send back, and the food was inexcusable...
Read moreI've been to this location a few different times and have been meaning to write a review for a while. Every time I go, I have a poor experience. The wait staff is always in a bad mood, hardly ever check on us, and when I go with friends and family, they always have issues with the food and have to return it to have it re-made. However I do go back, and although I only order 1 item, its good. The rest of there food is bad. Today, I placed a Phone order for 2 Large orders of the Buffalo Cali-flower. Its the only thing I will eat there. I asked for extra Blue Cheese dressing. When I got there, Michelle Greeted me, confirmed my order and I paid her. I even included a tip before I got my food. I was mistaken. She told me there was extra blue cheese dressing, and when I looked, there wasn't much. She told me there was 4oz. in there instead of the normal 2. I asked for more and she said she could give me a little bit more, but not much or she would have to charge me. I said fine and she went to the Kitchen. I guess the tip was for nothing right? She goes back, and she ends up Arguing with the Kitchen staff because they did not want to give me more blue cheese. The Kitchen is surrounded by clear glass, so you can see and hear everything. They told her they put it in, and she said "I understand, but he wants more" and they at first told her no. Then after a min. or two, they gave her some. She then came out and told me "Sorry about that, they were giving me issues." I said "I know, I can see and hear them from here". No one else was in the restaurant except for 1 other couple, so its not like they were busy. But I Don't see why it was such an issue. If I had sat down, I would not have been charged for extra blue cheese. Since I had asked for it in my order, why was it not charged in the first place? To be nice, so you can be mean later? When I told her this, she said...... "Well I should have charged you then". I asked for the 2 guys names she was arguing with, and she refused to tell me, saying "I don't want to get them in trouble". If they didn't want to get into trouble, they should have done there job with no issues.
As far as the food goes. I didn't get much. 6 pieces of Cali flower were in each container. At $8.50 an order, that's...
