Brandon's Diner — Restaurant in Fontana

DO NOT LEAVE A TIP IF YOU EAT INSIDE!!! I have been going through the drive through of Brandon’s diner for most of my purchases because I’m normally on lunch when I go. Their drive through sometimes gets long so today I decided to go inside and order my food because I didn’t think I would make it in 30 mins since their drive through was so long. On 05/2 I orded the grilled chicken salad and paid $11.80. Today when ordering TO GO inside they charged me $17.19 FOR THE SAME SALAD. I was confused so I checked my bank statement and walked outside and saw the salad priced at $10.95 on the drive through menu. When asking why I paid so much apparently the food prices are MORE EXPENSIVE INSIDE!!! Regardless of DINING IN or TO GO! When asking if they have a sign somewhere saying this they simply said no we don’t, sorry that’s how it works. I tried to ask if they could match the price since I was unaware and was just on my lunch so was trying to hurry and came inside. They said NO. I tried to cancel my order because it’s ridiculous that I’m paying $5 more for the SAME salad I bought less than 3 days ago. And they said NO. So if they want to overcharge you for food just for WALKING INSIDE then they are already making their tip money in there by overpricing you for the same food!!! So yes dining in is convinient but unless you wanna pay AT LEAST $5 more per plate and get ripped off then do yourself a favor and order your food through the drive through! First time to go to this restaurant. It's a nice family owned place. Nice seating, comfortable homey atmosphere. Very clean and cool. Me and a friend got there on a Tuesday and found out it was Taco Tuesday. The waitress pointed out that the taco Tuesday was with the hard shell tacos only. And that we had a choice of shredded beef or chicken. We weren't that hungry so we had the tacos. My friend had two shredded beef and I had two shredded beef and 1 chicken. It came with shredded beef for hard shell taco that was very hard add lettuce and cheese, tomato was 50 cents extra. Seems kind of pricey for a few bits of tomato and tomatoes are not that expensive. I wondered why it was Taco Tuesday and only for hard shell tacos and not soft tacos. I did not receive an adequate answer. I told the waitress upon leaving that they should have soft shell tacos as well for those people that don't have the teeth to chew these hard shell tacos, and she just gave an, awe sorry! Hard shell tacos, street tacos and soft shell tacos are all the same price at $3.95. Since it was Taco Tuesday the price for the hard shell tacos was $2.59 each. That was my complaint about Taco Tuesday. We might go back again because we want to try the burrito that is so big that you have to be very hungry to eat it. Sounds like a challenge worth trying. I visited this location with my fiance and ordered the migas which was very dry & the eggs were over cooked:/ The Waitress was kind. I like the checkout candy set up. They have the best strawberry limonade. What really bothered me was while trying to enjoy and evening with my guy, the waitress and another female wearing red were talking about inappropriate things and had no respect that they were right next to us saying these things. One was talking about hooking up with a guy and how she is being lied too etc., My fiance was so annoyed and kept waiting for them to finish unloading their dirty laundry and we did our best to block them out. Are these waitresses not given break time to discuss these things off the floor?? There was another waitress complaining about her shift being over and hoping it would go by faster. If she spent time picking up the trash or toothpicks on the floor time would go by faster. There is obviously performance and productivity issue here Mgmt needs to take action...
