The glaze on the strawberry donuts slid off??!!! No excuse if you made bad glaze that day... they could have been laid flat idc it's just bad to have wet naked donuts when they are cheaper that way. Inconsistent prices or display is old or something I'd. If I read 9.50 for six doughnuts then I pay $12+ I'm confused I ordered six doughnuts $8.50, a twist and a croissant it was $13.44 ?!! how in the hell is that math correct ? I knew the first day something wasn't right... The sandwiches were sitting in bags pre made and nuked if you wanted it to be warm. Yes it was a microwave because it was unevenly heated but at least I was able to eat it before the bread turned to stone. I'm not sure what audience they shoot for but it seems this is for people who will devour a whole half a dozen or take it to the office to share IMMEDIATELY, because I'm certain it's not for next day coffee cup enjoyment or end of day treat.... The donut glaze is wet. 5.craziest part, I raved about the strawberry donuts to the guy Behind me who the servers decided they would talk with instead of the NEXT Customer ...ME... But whatever. I still gave a compliment and left. I have been coming here with my mother for years...I guess that's who would have gotten a better welcome but she died in 2016... This is not how I remembered things..The strawberry icing once upon a time had Actual ๐ in it.... This pool of pink is just grease and sugar, I guess... Well we do know what it is anyway...but it's supposed to be crisp glaze. Donuts may as well be from Kroger deli. They were just as sticky and wet and disappointing.
The service was not cheerful to me... And I went two days in a row this week. No smile was offered just stoic gimme your money for these wet donuts type of vibe.
See pictures. Sad to lose another good a thing in the area. First the Mexican Bakery in Wholesale Foods...
ย ย ย Read moreI was searching for a spot that would prevent me from catching a flight to New Orleans for what I consider to be the BEST donuts on earth ! Just in case you are wondering - that spot is called Tastee Restaurant located in Kennar - highly suggest checking it out!
Back to Best Country Donuts! My niece was visiting and said she wanted to check this spot out. I told her that we would need to get up at 5am and make the journey to the other side of town and beat the morning rush hour traffic! We did this on a Wednesday! It was about a 25 minute drive from where I live . When we arrived I was surprised that there were already patrons in the building! It is clear this place is loved!
The gentleman that was checking out when we entered order 4 donuts and said โ I will see you in a few days!โ! I love this for them! Itโs nice to be loved by your customers!
I wanted to try a regular glazed donut but also ordered a sour cream and a blueberry to try ! I think my total was about $5.50 or 6 bucks. I did get two glazed - one for a friend. My niece ordered a glazed and an apple fritter.
When we got in the car to make the journey home my niece decided to try her glazed donut! She bit into it and said oh yessss, this is good !! I did not want to break my fast with sugar so I ended up waiting until I ate a proper breakfast prior to trying the ones I purchased.
I tried the glazed first . I just cut off a small piece! First impression- ok - itโs good - but itโs not like the one I love in New Orleans. I then tried the blueberry donut! Now that oneโ amazing! I ended up eating the entire donut! The sour cream one did not do anything for me !
If I was in the area wanting a sweet treat I would stop by...

The older chubby lady with the shirt hair is extremely rude. I waited patiently while they wasted 10mins taking another customers order the heavyset really big lady with short hair lady yells at me "NEXT and rolls her eyes and lifts up her hand making a disrespectful gesture for me to hurry and walk up and she said a few rude things while telling me to walk up ... please keep in mind there was nowhere for me to walk because they still had two customers in front of me that they had not even finished with. And then when I asked for the owners info they refused to give it to me it's okay because I'm very well known in this community and my stepfather is a well known sherif in Clayton a basic Google review is the only the beginning. I come here tomuch to be treated this way the man and his wife that used to serve the food were way more welcoming. You all will hear from my ppl in the community soon it might take a few months but the fat lady will be fired and I could careless about the owner being her uncle. I'm sure you aren't worth his business that's been running and doing just fine without complaints before the rude heavy...
