I used to work at Lafayette College, and I will always be grateful to one of my co-workers for showing me this place... one, their American-style deli sandwiches are both creative and well conceived and well executed and you get a generous ratio of meat/cheese/toppings to bread, although their bread is excellent...
But they also have grab and go homemade traditional Lebanese dishes like (amazing) hummus and tabule salad...
And the husband-wife owner-operators are very sweet and also very accommodating (I'm Mr. Custom Order, which is to say that even though I'm pleasant, I am a pain in the a** lol)...
So I would give this place 5 Stars based on the info above, BUT one day per week (I think Tuesday, but call ahead to ask as I moved away from Easton a few years ago so I don't definitively remember) they make lamb shawarma in the extremely time consuming and labor intensive "old world" traditional Lebanese way, and that isn't just BY FAR the best shawarma I've ever had, it's one of the very best meals I've ever eaten in my life... and at the time I lived there, their niece would visit from Lebanon in the Summer and make this amazing hand rolled herb crusted traditional Lebanese flat bread... if you got the old world shawarma on the traditional flat bread (which they only have when the niece is in town, because it is also very time consuming and labor intensive), you are talking about a meal that is as good as any meal I've had at any Michelin Star restaurant anywhere in the world, and I'm fortunate to have been to a pretty decent sample size of Michelin Star places...
Anyway,...
Read moreForks Mediterranean Deli has a very interesting menu. However, they are extremely slow. When you eat in, you order at the counter and then wait... And wait.
The dining area is a combination of booths and tables. Seating was not really all that comfortable. The tabletops were dirty and sticky. No one comes out to clean them off in between diners.
Our sandwiches were well made. I had the chicken shawarma. My wife had the Mediterranean chicken club. We had a side of falafel. The food was good. My chicken shawarma was a bit bland. Beverages were just cans of soda out of the refrigerator. No cups. No ice. No straws.
My real treat was the Turkish Delight and the Nougat with Pistachios.
The prices were fair. Parking is limited.
I'll go back again to try some of the other interesting...
Read moreI purchased several platters from Forks for a post-graduation event, and they did a wonderful job. Vivianne was very helpful and patient working with me to figure out what (and how much) to order. Everything was absolutely delicious, fresh and very reasonably priced. I ordered a sandwich platter, a dip carousel (hummus, baba ghanoush, roasted red pepper dip, labneh), and a platter of meat pies, kibbeh balls, spanakopita, spinach pies and grape leaves. For the sandwich platter, I was able to choose a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options from the extensive sandwich, pita and wrap menu, and the delicious dips came with a generous amount of their amazing pita chips. Wish I lived nearby so we could enjoy Forks on a...
