BluFlamingo Kava — Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale

Blu Flamingo Kava is such a cool spot in Fort Lauderdale! The space is super open and inviting, with lots of windows, a pool table, a video game area, and two bars—a café bar and a kava bar. The front has this awesome glass garage door that opens up to an outdoor seating area, so you can see everything happening inside, like people playing pool or hanging out.

The outdoor space is one of my favorite parts. There’s plenty of seating, patio furniture, trees, and colorful murals all around. People even play sports outside, which adds to the lively vibe. They also host all kinds of competitions—cornhole, pool tournaments, and poker nights. It’s just a fun, community-focused place.

The location is perfect, right between Fort Lauderdale and Wilton Manors. During the day, it’s super laid-back and a great spot to hang out or even get some work done. As it gets later, the vibe shifts, and it becomes more of a party with music, DJs sometimes, and pop-up vendors.

Prices are solid, and the crowd is a mix of all ages. Whether you’re just chilling during the day or looking for a fun night out, Blu Flamingo Kava is the place to be. Definitely worth...

Stopped in early morning . The Kava tender got my stuff asked it if I wanted to keep it open . I said yes he asked for a credit card to hold which I understand I gave him a debit card (I know it’s not a credit card ) but I shouldn’t need a major credit card to purchase a few shells and a kava shot . My debit card is a little worn out but it works . He was like examining it like I handed him foreign currency. He was very cold and borderline rude . I thought perhaps it upset him somehow so I asked very calmly if it did something. He said I asked for a major credit card not a debit in a rude way . So I just closed out my tab finished my drinks and left . I would have definitely spent way more than the $20 I spent had he been a little nicer to be. And definitely won’t be back again. The drinks were great . It’s a nice place otherwise. I’ve been here other times and never had any issues. Again the drinks , the decor and everything else was great . I go to a few Kava bars in FTL and they all have a unique, special vibe and Blu is no different.

The Kavatenders (especially Kendalyn, Queen of the Mornings) are some of the kindest, hardest working, and fun around. They always make sure the customers are taken care of. Especially during busy nights with a lot of newbies, they always make sure the regulars are taken care of!

This is definitely the most social of all the kava bars I’ve visited. The community is overwhelmingly kind, welcoming, and open—save for the occasional mean girl moment. But hey, every scene has one.

If you're looking for a place to work or make some new friends, this is definitely the spot. It doesn't matter if its Kendalyn, Mike, Julian, Brandon, Alexis or Jon (if Im missing anyone it's not intentional!) - they are all kind and welcoming. Robb the owner is also super nice and always welcomes feedback and you can tell he really cares and wants to make his spot the best it can be.
