Though we have passed this place for years, we finally tried it this morning on the recommendation of our barber Shane, who is just next door to the Magnolia Cafe. So glad we finally went in. How foolish we were not to try it before! The lovely and attentive lady who greeted us, who I believe is also the owner, was very friendly and welcoming. Service was efficient and food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. My partner got the turkey club and I got the tuna sandwich which was open-faced and mixed with fresh dill. I've had two breakfast & lunch cafe's down here in South Florida over the years and they make their tuna exactly as I did. Also, you can tell that everything is of utmost quality with no shortcuts like using cheap tuna, etc. I have to say that after so many disappointing meals out lately where we basically felt like we were throwing money down the drain, it was so great to finally get wonderful quality food and service. We also had a piece of the carrot cake, and it is easily one of the best carrot cakes I've ever had. Carrot cake is a favorite of mine and I believe this one had orange rind in it, absolutely delicious. Prices are very reasonable. It's worth mentioning that the atmosphere is eclectic and the collectibles are apparently all available for purchase. Loved it and we'll make it a regular stop every time we get our haircuts every few weeks,...
Read moreIt was such a nice treat to stop in here today. Magnolia combines two of my favorite things, coffee and vintage. Magnolia is located in a house on the outskirts of downtown Ft. Lauderdale. Tables and antiques are tucked into all of the rooms and there is outside seating in the back surrounded by beautiful orchids. All of the vintage and antique items you see are for sale.
The menu is filled with tasty and healthy dishes like avocado toast, sandwiches, salads, and lox. All of the pastries are baked on premise. Magnolia Caffee is run by a friendly husband and wife. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to your table.
For my midmorning treat I ordered the butterscotch muffin and a cappuccino. The muffin was presented on a lovely plate with powdered sugar. It was so pretty and tasted as delicious as it looked. The muffin was baked fresh that morning. It was so moist and flavorful, more like a cake. The cappuccino was also wonderful. It had the thickest foam I may have ever had. You pay for your food on the way out and that was when I found out my snack was $6! I paid more than that just for coffee over the past few days and it wasn't even as good. Come out and support this business. You will be so happy your discovered this...
Read moreI have been to this cafe twice. Everything that I have had to eat here has been cooked to perfection. The key lime pie, the baked cheesecake, the bagel sandwiches, and the waffles and eggs have all been out of this world. Owners are personable and care about every single customer coming into their establishment. My girlfriend and I just went there today. I came there for some key lime pie, but sadly they were out, but they had cheesecake, so I had the cheesecake. The cheesecake was insanely good, and I am glad that they make everything in house. The owner told me they use real key lime juice for the key lime pie as well. On another note, the decor of the restaurant is next to none. You feel like you are having a home cooked meal every time you go in there. Now, let's talk about coffee. The coffee, and the tea, are perfectly done. The coffee is fresh not bitter, with a perfect froth on the coffee. The tea is also good quality with my girlfriend and I sharing a whole pot of it last time we went. This is a gem of a place which should be protected...
