I hate that I have to write this not so great Review, Because I know how hard these businesses work To keep their establishment running. CHEN’S kitchen Used to be my go to spot very close to me, And service was good as well. Until Recently, I went there And got a particular dish And as I was eating the food, I noticed it taste funny but I tried to bypass it because I was hungry, Then I tasted a bigger piece of the meat and immediately spit it out and everything else that was in my mouth, Earlier I said the food tasted funny, funny is not the word to describe how the food taste. I can’t even explain it. Let’s just say maybe the meat was rotten or whatever and they threw it in some sauce and it kind of hid taste, but you could still taste The Sourness through it. I called back and got a refund, And they admitted the meat was bad and they weren’t paying attention and that they threw it out as much as I appreciate honesty. That is unacceptable. Thank God, I did not get sick. I will never eat here again, or recommend it to anybody, Since that Experience I don’t even feel comfortable eating takeout anymore. Get sick and contract things and you never know where you got it from because you didn’t show Sandra right away where he didn’t get sick right away. These establishments got to do a better job keeping up up-to-date. And safe no cutting corners, if the meat is bad, throw it away...
Read moreGood first impression! I want to end on a nice note so I'll make fun of a few things up front.
In American Chinese Takeout, there's a grand tradition of f*ing useless forks. If you don't wanna splurge on forks that can penetrate broccoli, just give us chopsticks. We'll be fine.
Profoundly uncomfortable chairs. Yeah, takeout place, got it. But seriously, like military vehicle uncomfortable. Nice sidewalk tables, if watching Walmartians fight over parking is your bag.
Hot air hand dryers are less sanitary than not washing your hands at all. I dare you to look up why.
The place was clean. The decor was pretty groovy. The menu was straight from the kit. You're there for a thing you already know you want, and you're looking for a sweet spot on price and quality.
Kung Pao chicken on the lunch special: A sizeable portion of well made food for $7. Veggies were bright and lively and had enough bite to repel that sorryass fork. Sauce was punchy and just thick enough to cling. Egg roll was crispy and substantial. As a bonus, it came in a good reusable container. And since they share a parking lot with one of the worst Walmarts ever, you'll be pleased to hear...
Read moreWas working in the area and looked for a place for us for lunch and based on reviews, we came here. Once inside, we noticed it was a carryout only place, but they did have a table and four chairs, so we opted to eat our carry-out food there. The restroom is closed to the public and they have a steady stream of people coming in to pick up carry-out food. They even had a homeless guy walk in and start begging from us, inside of the restaurant.
The items we ordered were cooked quite quickly but had very little flavor. I ordered chicken and broccoli, and while the ingredients looked good and fresh, there was no Chinese flavor to it, so it was quite bland and boring. The pork fried rice was ok, only slightly better than the chicken and broccoli. The lady working the counter was friendly. Prices were decent. Definitely would not...
