My recent visit to IHOP left me with mixed feelings. While the restaurant had its positive aspects, there were some notable drawbacks that impacted the overall experience.
Firstly, I was disappointed to learn that IHOP does not accept contactless payments, which is now a major way I prefer to pay when traveling. This inconvenience added an unnecessary extra step to the payment process.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, I noticed that it was hardly busy, with many empty tables available. However, there were several people waiting up front to be seated, and I couldn't understand the reason behind this discrepancy. Thankfully, the wait time for us wasn't too long, but it did feel a bit disorganized.
The location of IHOP was rather small, tucked away in the corner of a shopping mall building. Despite its size, the interior was super clean, modern, and appeared to have been recently built, which was a nice touch.
The bathrooms were also clean and well-maintained, which is always a plus when dining out.
We ordered a breakfast burrito to share since we've been dieting. I appreciated the option to customize our order according to our preferences. I decided to order water instead of coffee, as I had already had coffee from Starbucks and wanted something different.
The service at IHOP was surprisingly attentive, given the low bill. However, the major downside was the long wait time for our food. We waited for approximately 30 minutes, which was quite frustrating, especially considering the relatively simple order of a breakfast burrito.
During our meal, we had to endure the annoyance of someone sitting next to us who was constantly laughing and playing loud videos on their phone. This lack of consideration for others' dining experiences was unpleasant and detracted from the overall ambiance, vut ultimately not the fault of our waitress or the restaurant
All in all, my visit to IHOP was a bit of a mixed bag. The cleanliness and modern ambiance were definite pluses, as was the attentive service despite the low bill. However, the lack of contactless payment option, the disorganization at the entrance, the long wait time for food, and the disruptive neighboring diner took away from the overall dining experience. For that, an otherwise five star experience loses a single star. I will consider giving IHOP another chance...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSince this restaurant has open at this location, it has been questionable of quality of service. However, on March 24th, 2023, 1030pm, it became very obvious of the negative concerns of questions. The manager Sherwood lacks managerial skills or leadership ability. He's rude and incites situations where if he had the appropriate training and knowledge, then the restaurant and employees could run a better place for the customers to have a nice dining experience. Our food came out cold, wrong, or never came out. He was argumentative and threatening. He said he doesn't care who will call and refuse to give us his general manager information. Then, because we complained about his explosive threaten negative rude behavior, Sherwood called the police. He told them that we walked out on the bill and refused to pay. Actually, we were still sitting waiting on missing food, the bill to be correctly added, and to gather information that we requested from him. The police arrived, and they immediately asked if he was the manager because Sherwood was yelling, pointing fingers while making threats that he could not make. Finally, an employee Ryan assisted us with paying, and the police warned Sherwood to calm down or he would be detained. IHOP shouldn't have come to that location because they don't have manpower to run an effective, friendly, professional, and nice environment for their customers to dine. AWFUL By the way, the homeless people are sitting inside harassing you for food or money as well as in the restrooms that's not clean. We will not return and I will ensure that Sherwood is properly trained or maybe washing dishes at this point. Unprofessional at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been to this location 2 times prior to 3/24 and never had an issue--until yesterday. I went to this location on 3/24 at around 10:30 pm. We were a party of 8 and we had SEVERAL problems with our orders. The wrong orders were sent out to us, food was served cold, and we had to ask for items (pancakes that were supposed to come with the order, a side of mayo, etc) repeatedly, only not to get them. Food came to the table very late. Food was sent back more than once to have the order(s) corrected. Let me be clear--the problem was not with our server. Issues came from the kitchen and other wait staff taking items from the window that didn't belong to the customers they were waiting on. The most awful part of the dining experience was the attitude of the manager. When we expressed our issues with the service/orders, he (he said his name was Sherwin) became very irate--as if we had done something wrong. When we insisted a discount be placed on our bill, he refused and then threatened to call the police (which he did). He lied to the police and stated we were trying to leave without paying the bill---which was a COMPLETE FALSEHOOD! We had not and were not going anywhere. When the police arrived, the officers couldn't believe the manager's attitude. His issue was with his staff--not us. He shouldn't have taken it out on us. This is my last time patronizing this...
