Quite disappointed my first time visiting. Stood in line waited my turn, I asked about the soup of the day and then instead asked to order a salmon spinach crepe, the woman (dark hair/short/big round glasses) helping me explained that the crepes are pre-made and in the cold case, as is most of the items with the exception of the sandwiches, which are freshly made. She stated they dont have servers/table service either. She then pointed to the cold case and explained that they could heat the crepes up if I wanted. I apologized for not knowing, since it was my first time.
So I walked over to the cold case and grabbed the crepe in the cold "to go" box, then walked back to the area I was waiting as a customer requested to order coffee, so the Employee who was originally helping me told the customer, "Meet me at the other register for the coffee." I figured since I had already grabbed the crepe and just needed to order a coffee, that I would follow the customer and also order and pay for a coffee for myself. As I walked up the Employee turned toward me and spoke down to me in a NASTY tone, as If I was a child and said, "You have to get back in line, I explained that I just wanted to order a coffee...she then replied.... "No, Ma'am you HAVE to get BACK in line if you want a coffee" I was taken aback that she spoke to me in that manner. Also, knowing full well I was already standing in a long line to begin with and waited my turn for 10minutes, she STILL ordered me back to stand in the back of the NOW even longer line. So I now have to stand in a long line TWICE.
I walked to the back of the long line, looked at the cold container, contemplated if it was even worth waiting another 10-15min for a cold pre-made crepe that was sitting in a case after being spoken to rudely. I decide it was NOT worth the TERRIBLE customer service and to spend close to $15-$20 for a cold crepe, coffee and possibly a pastry. I walked out of line, placed the crepe container back in the cold case, walked out to my car and decided to drive to Storks Cafe, guaranteed service with a smile, delicious food and croissants, pastries and cakes. Sad that the employees terrible customer service turned a new customer away. Ill be sure to share my experience with my friends that recommended this place.
Also, if youre in the mood for Fresh Crepes, or French food...check out "Voo La Voo Cafe" in Fort Lauderdale not far from CroissantTime...they are located near a beautiful garden courtyard and have 5 stars and nearly...
Read moreThis review pains me to write as my wife and I used to really enjoy coming to this place however we moved away for a year and recently came back and her birthday was right around the corner so of course being back she wanted a cake from here, I went in after work and showed them the picture of the cake we always buy as they don’t have names listed and never asked us for a name before and the lady helping me seemed very unsure on which cake it was and we had a short back and forth then she got really defensive and pushy as I was doubted her as she didn’t seem confident on the flavor going back and forth between 2 different ones and then said “do you want this cake or not?” To which I replied “if it’s the same flavor as the picture yes.”
Since i felt uneasy about the whole experience on the ride home when I arrived home I asked my wife to taste it on the back side to be sure and we’ll just take pics of the front anyway, Well it wasn’t the correct cake so for her birthday we had to buy a carvel cake as a backup since they close early on Mondays and I went back the next day explaining the situation which the staff i spoke with the next day where very polite and knowledgeable knowing exactly which cake it was from the picture to which later i found out the Desighn on the outside depicts the flavor on the inside something I wish i knew sooner and the other lady should’ve known as an employee. Anyway they allowed me to leave the cake in the shop till the end of the day as i had to work all day and i picked it up with my cooler drove 30min home and since the birthday had passed we ate part of the cake. Well I noticed something wasn’t right a few hours later when I almost threw up but didn’t pay much mind to it thinking it was my acid reflux however the real effects began to kick in the next day and progressively get worse till I found out it was food poisoning keeping in mind my wife also got sick and the only food we ate in common was the cake as our diets are as opposite as it can get and this resulted in a missed birthday for the cake requiring a 2nd cake, 3 days of missed work due to being sick, the cost of a doctor visit and throwing away the majority of of a $50 cake not to mention the terrible experience of food poisoning. We really did enjoy this place but this experience coupled with some recent reviews will have is shying away from it for a while if not...
Read moreNew Romanian Mgr is penny wise and dollar foolish. My family and I have been loyal customers for 25 plus years. As long as I can remember. We have tolerated the “very French” customer service approach. We even tolerate the overly aggressive bird population and their mess on all the chairs and tables. I bring someone special to try the “delicious” ham and Swiss on a baguette. There was one, Yes One piece of thin ham and one, Yes One piece of cheese on it!!! I ordered the almond croissant, as I usually do. They were out of stock again… How are u out of stock multiple times of a very popular item? I got an almond paste “thing” that needed butter. They gave me mayonnaise!!! Ugh, yuck. I spit it on the plate. It was very classy and impressive. Mistakes happen, I get it. So, I return again and guess what? No almond croissants……. I notice a “bean counter” with a member of mgmt reviewing all of the products. Ah-Ha . A bell goes off in my head. I did something similar at a much larger scale for 30 years. The new mgmt or ownership or whatever is reevaluating food cost. Now it makes sense. I order the same thing, I don’t really want anyway and ask for butter. That will be .25 cents apiece, sir…….. I Melted Down My family and I spend no less than $2500 /yr in meals and gifts. Never Again Never Ever Again!!!!! Penny wise and dollar stupid. I’m no tourist…I live here…. What r u thinking??!!!! Great new top end bakery 2.6 miles away just opened up last year. I haven’t been there yet, but I will be soon. I brought this up in a packed club last night during Fri night happy hour. I heard a bunch of bad things. Now instead of defending them, I led the charge. It’s too bad that yet another great ft lau restaurant is on the way down hill. There’s plenty more of them around. I’ll update this “profession of embarrassment and disappointment” with my search for an alternate bakery that treats its customers with dignity. Mgmt- don’t respond to me. It’s done. Learn from it or not. At this point I am “unrecoverable”. Recognize that word? Recovery? I am sending a blanket email next to all our friends:”sorry guys, no more...
