The Big Coconut Guesthouse — Hotel in Fort Lauderdale

I recently stayed at The Little Coconut, part of the larger Big Coconut Resort, and I can confidently say it won’t be my last visit. This spontaneous getaway turned out to be a hidden gem, living up to every glowing review I’d read beforehand. Although I initially reached out after the office had closed, David still answered the phone and kindly asked me to call back the next day. Before I even had a chance, he proactively followed up and helped book my stay at The Little Coconut, located just across the way from the main resort—so close, calling it a “street” might be generous! Getting back and forth was effortless. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, thanks in large part to the wonderful guests and, more importantly, the incredible staff. David and Hazel went above and beyond, delivering genuine five-star hospitality throughout my stay. The property itself is charming, with about 17 rooms surrounding a lush, enclosed courtyard and a serene pool. It gave off strong Melrose Place vibes—minus the drama, of course. As a first visit for me and my boyfriend to this resort, I have to say, it was better than what we had expected. We were given a tour during check in, serves free drinks during happy hour, and the facility and room is just great. Oh! And the service was amazing. We kinda felt horrible having our rooms turned over, so we didn't get it done every day - but the staff was just so nice about doing it. (We do feel bad for the spray tan stains we left - sorry!) Tom, who greeted us, gave us the tour, and essentially was the one we talked to the most at the resort, is simply amazing. Funny, helpful and just goes above and beyond making sure you're all set. Tom, if you by chance get to read this, THANK YOU for everything you do!

The request we made during booking was also met happily, and when we decided to stay an extra day - although we didn't realize it would mess up other booking - David, made sure we were able to enjoy another day. Thanks David!

We stayed at The Big Coconut Guesthouse for eight days and loved it! Great place!

First, the staff is amazing! While many of the customer-facing workers at restaurants, shops, and attractions in Fort Lauderdale were more than a little cranky and obviously didn't like their jobs, the guys at The Big Coconut were two of the kindest, most helpful people we've come across in our travels. They were there to make the guests happy and enjoyed doing it.

The rooms are super comfortable. The location is convenient. The opportunity to be buck naked all day in spotless surroundings can't be beaten!

The weekend happy hour with complimentary alcohol was outstanding. The drinks were delicious and just kept coming.

I'd make one suggestion that would have made our visit perfect. I would upgrade the breakfast a bit. It was just too plain. Maybe add breakfast cereal, hot chocolate, and hardboiled eggs...
