Stale aftertaste.
I stopped by the establishment today for a quick lunch. After peacefully washing my hands and joining the queue to order, I noticed a beautiful display of tomatoes on the counter. I tested one for aroma (A common practice to connect with food before introducing it to the cellular level, particularly at the food establishment or market.) Surprisingly, this pure and simple act of engagement and admiration gave birth to the uncontrolled eruption of anger, hatred, and aggression from an employee preparing sandwiches who immediately addressed me as disgusting, embarrassing himself and putting other customers in discomfort. Combined with Andrea Bocelli singing in the background, this unacceptable treatment took a few seconds to register. Humbled, I immediately paid $10 cash for the tomato, left it on the counter, and walked away. There were endless scenarios for handling a situation like this. Still, the employee chose the one that exposed his lack of work ethic, his disposition toward customers, and the establishment's service culture. Another possibility is that a simple sandwich preparation process completely exhausted his mental and intellectual abilities, leaving nothing but negative emotions and substandard communication skills to take over his adolescent grey matter. Either way, you need two for tango to be good—food quality and customer experience. You failed on the latter. I'm confident that aside from myself, you lost all other customers who witnessed this theatrical performance today—shame on you, La Mia Focaccia, and good luck with your...
Read moreI went here with my Husband for lunch the other day. You could almost pass this place if you weren't looking for it! First off: expect to spend about $8 a person. Most of the focaccias and salads are that price. For real fresh ingredients, you can't say this is a bad price. If you want to spend $4 for lunch, go to Subway to get tasteless meats and a worthless sandwich.
It took about 10 mins to get our food. My focaccia bread was freshly baked. The fresh mozerella and meats were clearly good quality. The herbs and spices tasted like they were just picked from a garden outside. I enjoyed every bite of my sandwich. In fact, My Hubby who is from Jersey said it was the best sandwich he's ever had since he left Jersey. Now THAT'S saying something. The motto of the restaurant is "quality, not quantity." I was contently full after eating my delicious sandwich. What more...
Read moreOverall, 4.5... but I'm rounding up a bit.
Bread is fantastic, but I strongly advise requesting it NOT to be pressed. Fresh ingredients. Savory vegetables (eggplant and red peppers are homemade and DELICIOUS). Legit EVOO and vinagrette. The no.12 is my go-to. Sub the arugala for basil and sub the smoked mozzarella for bufala. Delightful!
Meat quality is not impressive. My pressed chicken sandwich had a texture that reminded me of Subway. Everything else about the sandwich was delicious.
Hearty salads (olives are too salty), good caprese salad for a lunch place, but not as good as elsewhere.
Delicious panceroti (OMG that dough).
The no.5 is also one of their several originals that never disappoints. Again, don't press the bread!
Not quite as cheap as your average lunch place,...
