This place is a fairly good option for your typical Chinese food fix. What the food may lack in quality more than makes up for in portion size and price.
Outside the venue the daily deals are listed so you get a good idea of their selection. Food is served behind a glass counter, where you pick and choose your main dish and sides. Food-wise, I'll be comparing this to previous experiences, especially since I selected common items. I ordered the following: pork fried rice, chicken with broccoli, honey garlic chicken, spring roll and a crab rangoon. The rice was well cooked but with more chunks of onion than usual, and the bits of pork were soft, not crispy. The chicken with broccoli was not what I was expecting - the broccoli was delicious but the pieces of chicken were a bit thin and had an odd texture. The honey garlic chicken is usually a good go-to however this version was more batter than chicken. The spring roll was very typical. The crab rangoon was crisp and probably the best part of the meal. Overall the food was slightly bland, lacked the crispness I'm familiar with, and fairly average compared to others.
The food portions were very generous. The amount of food I received was probably enough to feed two people. But if you're a fatty like me, you won't share. My entire meal cost about $9.00, which isn't bad considering the portion and that it came with a canned soda.
I visited around 12:30-1:30pm and they were slightly busy. You may have a small line ahead of you and possibly a crowd already seated. Seating inside is fairly limited with several small tables probably holding as many as 15 people. There are also two small tables outside. While I wouldn't recommend this place for large groups, it's still a solid option for a quick lunch with a few friends...
Read moreI always used to order from them because their food was halfway decent, however this time around it was a different. Not only was my order wrong the first time around, but there was hair in the new order as well. I ordered vegetable lo mein and they sent me vegetable lo mein with no vegetables? When I originally called the restaurant back to let them know my order was wrong, the girl on the phone was rude and nasty. On top of that she kept repeating to make sure to give the driver the old order when he arrives. The correct dish took over an hour to arrive which meant the rest of my order, we had to eat cold. When they brought the correct dish back it had a note on it to get the old order back. Not that I care because it was the wrong order, but I was insulted that they think I'd actually try get over on them by trying to keep 35 cents worth of noodles. These people are a joke. Order from Chef Choy's instead, better service, better food and better experience overall. I was coerced by my teenage daughter to order from them tonight. Never again! The worst part of it is that I have a cold and I used my finger to lift the noodles to see if the vegetables were at the bottom of the container. I hope no one else gets these possibly recycled noodles. I've never encountered a restaurant that makes it a practice of taking the wrong orders back. I'd be scared if you're ordering lo mein tonight. Good luck to the...
Read moreI usually just order a small shrimp fried rice (as the large does not bring anymore shrimp than the small). & it'll hit the spot but Today I thought I'd try something new which I should have known better because anytime I have ventured beyond the rice I have been extremely disappointed & today was no different. So I pay about $9 for "Sweet & Sour Shrimp" but to my disgust what was inside was anything But! The gentleman who so kindly took my order made it a point to tell me that it's "Breaded" like I had no idea what sweet & sour shrimp Should be yet failed to mention the Shrimp is Not Really Shrimp! Usually I'll just let it go & never order again but I decided to call them to give them an opportunity to rectify the situation. The man who answers immediately asks me how many pieces of "shrimp" was left & I told him 4 in tact because it took me opening a second one to realize I am not crazy & know what shrimp looks like, tastes like and feels like in your mouth! Instead I was basically told by an old lady who I guess runs the joint that it is real shrimp just very Breaded! I told them I don't appreciate doing business with dishonest establishments & will not be ordering in the future! If a Restaurant, Chinese at that, Blatantly Lies to you about something so Obvious it should really be Concerning what they...
