Edited: I called to order the bouquet cupcakes again and asked if they can do an order of 4 instead of 8, they said they can't accommodate that request, which is fine in and of itself. The reason why I'm taking away 1 star is because the person on the phone also told me that the reason why is that the cupcakes are prepackaged, so they can't split up a package.
They saw the review and called back to explain everything is made in-house but they still can’t split up a package due to shipping. After speaking on the phone, you are still unable to separate the packages even if you try to pick up in-person because they are baked in large quantities, however sometimes they have a few singular cupcakes you can purchase individually in-store. I appreciated the clarification and information, though I didn’t appreciate it being said that I’m “making them look bad”. My review is not intended to be malicious, it’s to share what I was being told. I have even edited this review a second time to update the information since there was a misunderstanding.
Should you need a larger order of cupcakes, this is a fine option; if you need anything of smaller quantity that isn’t customized, it’s not your best option. If you do a google search of Bouquet Cupcakes, you can find the same exact ones sold for the same price at Williams Sonoma and Mackenzie Limited, sold in the same quantity.
Original Review: Though a little pricey, the end product was beautiful and looked just like the pictures. I got the bouquet cupcakes for a friend's birthday and they were gorgeous and packaged with care! They were ready waiting for me when I came to pick them up! Of course, they were also delicious.
The one thing I would say could be improved would be the website; I initially was trying to place my order online, but unless I can't work their website correctly, it doesn't let you place an order for a date in the future; if it does, I assume it's after the payment page, and I wasn't willing to pay $65 for cupcakes to get them too early. If you call them, they can set up the order for whenever you need, but having the online capability would be a great...

I also wanted to experience what everyone else was talking about. That week I placed my order, I received my shipment to enjoy with my husband. I ordered it to arrive after my Birthday being that I was out of town. Online you can also choose the date you want it to arrive to your home which was May 16th, 2023. Read moreI ordered a very expensive brownie cheesecake for Valentine's Day. It was ordered in more than enough time to prepare and ship. We Take the Cake shipped it timely, Goldbelly handed it off to UPS timely. Unfortunately, UPS dropped the ball in a major way. The cheesecake is still undelivered. The most recent estimated delivery date will have left it in the shipping package for 6 days, well beyond what any dry ice can protect if it even arrives by the newly revised delivery date. The delivery date has been pushed back 3 times. I spoke to someone at We Take the Cake who chastized me by saying, "if you want it by a specific day, you should know to select an earlier delivery date"...really, for Valentine's Day?!?!? What happened to customer service that asks, "I'm so sorry, how can we make it right?" Not, "we did our part." Goldbelly customer service was no better. Their response was, "we have no control over how UPS moves packages, and we do not issue refunds for items already shipped. You can have 15% off your next order with us, or we can reship, using the same carrier, and your husband's Valentine's Day gift will arrive 2/19/25 at no extra cost to you" Fortunately, I can dispute the transaction with my bank who remembers the value of customer focused service. I am curious to see if the replacement order shows up and what condition the product will be in. UPDATE ON 2/17/25......it took 2 days to ship from Fla to Central VA. Arrived in Charlottesville on time, 2/14/25. Sat 4 days in Charlottesville, was put on a truck 3 times, was out for delivery and returned to the hub 2 times and finally delivered today. I can't fathom how upset I would be if this was not an expensive cheesecake but life saving medication. Pictures of the smashed, melted, mauled cake are not even worth posting. The box was CLEARLY marked perishable, containes dry ice, food inside.........guess that translates in UPS speak to ignore, brutalize, leave undelivered long enough to spoil,...
