Its such a shame to see them resorting to the same practices that drove us away from the previous business that they ran through this location.
I've been eating at Only Thai since they first opened for the fantastic lunch special offered during the week. I'd order the same thing pretty much every time. The spring rolls with the delicious pineapple? sauce and a curry with chicken or beef. We used to receive two spring rolls, a container of rice, and a typical plastic meal prep style container full of the main course.
Today I ordered from there and went in to pick up my food in the same brown paper bag stapled shut as always. Never had a problem before, why open it there? So I drive back to work and reopen the store, open up my food and find only one spring roll, no separate container of rice, and a split container of curry and rice. They cut the entree portion by about 30%, spring rolls in half, and seemingly a bit less rice.
I understand its been a hard year for small businesses and am sympathetic, but if you cut your food portions substantially without adjusting the price, at least inform the customer of the change so we can make an informed decision. When I called them they said I could drive back and get the appropriate amount of food but that doesn't work for me since I am working and only have so much time I can shut the store down. The manager basically told me I'm crazy and to pound sand but unless there is a black hole built into this container, physics is on my side that they shrunk the portions substantially.
The food was still really good and the hostess who gave me my food was super nice and I don't see this as any fault of hers. Considering the preceding pizza place they ran out of this location did the same thing to us a dozen times switching container sizes, I can't see any one else to blame but upper management trying to increase profitability out of a slow location. It's a shame they don't show them the same level of care as they do...
Read moreThere was nothing authentic about this restaurant's food. We ordered the Masaman curry which is supposed to come with sweet potatoes, onions and peanuts as a standard dish, but all these ingredients were missing, as a result it didn't taste like Msaman at all. I also ordered steamed tofu as my protein and they served it fried. Yes, the owner stated that I was brought steamed tofu on the side, but I was still made to eat the broth full of the oil of the fried tofu, and the steamed tofu that was not cooked in the broth tasted like nothing. As a habit, I also ordered extra mixed veggies, for which they charged $4, but there were hardly any extra veggies. The entire meal, I felt like I was "fishing" in the non msaman broth for the goodies and substantial food only to be left feeling hungry! I will never go to this restaurant again. Oh yes, and I ordered brown rice instead of white only to find that they charged me $3 as if I had ordered a side of brown rice when what I ordered was an upgrade which other restaurants serve for an extra $1. We did not sign the credit card statement because you were charging $8 for extra veggies ($4/dish), yet your cooked cheated us out of the sweet potatoes, onions and peanuts that are standard. We asked that our bill be ADJUSTED to reflect that even if we were given vegetables that are not standard in Masaman that you acknowledge that you failed to give us the vegetables that should have been in our dish that were included in the price. But, no, you did not give us the veggies we paid for, and wanted to charge extra for what was given in place of the veggies we should have gotten! Be fair is all we asked. You refused. The only thing we can agree on is that we will...
Read moreOrdered the Pad-See-Ew. With pork. Did not custo or ask for anything out of the normal. As this was my first time trying this place. First this was Uber Eats delivery. I checked the box for utensils seeing as I'm in my office and don't have any with me. Came with nothing, not even a napkin. Service problem. Now to the dish. Small in size for the price. But of course Uber tacks on their Cuts so that makes it a little more. First impression visually not very visually impressive, immediately noticed how light the noodles were this is not indicative of good Pad-See-Ew, when the chef uses the proper sauces and Cooks the noodles correctly they should be dark. Next we see only one vegetable being used, a leafy green, but this green is not a good one for this dish, I do understand Morning Glory, or many other greens can be harder to source in America. But broccoli, and carrots are fine. But this kale green they used has a strong taste and was under cooked so the stems are to hard. Next "Sand", yes I said Sand. The whole dish had sand in it. Now I'm sure nothing was dropped on the floor here, the Sand is coming from the greens, as they where not washed properly 🙄. Taste, well as expected, low taste, very very little sauce used. Cheap cheap cheap. Noodles way over cooked, pour mush. Chicken way over cooked and dry. Over all this was a never again dish. And on a side note, I can take black pepper in the dish, wrong, Pad-See-Ew never has black pepper. I really don't think this place is Thai owned, and the workers are not Thai. Many mistakes here for a...
