I must have passed this park a million times and never saw it. It is hidden in plain sight. The park takes its name from the neighborhood it is in, Cherry Creek Estates. To get to the park you need to pull into the parking lot for the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church next door. Go all the way down and you will see the entrance to the park on the left hand side.
At first the park didn't look like much. It has a gravel exercise pathway, open space, outdoor exercise equipment, a picnic table and a bench. The park lies along a creek that feeds into the North Fork Middle River.
After walking around a bit I really began to like the park. The park is filled with iguanas. They are everywhere in the trees and on the ground. If you have an aversion to iguanas you might want to stay way. I saw a mama duck and her ducklings sailing down the creek. A tree near the water was swarming with the sweetest Atala butterflies. Read moreLove this park so much it’s quite and tranquil. Great place to go for a walk or workout in peace. Plenty of parking and plenty of areas to relax and hangout. However there is a couple of bums that hangout towards the evening and you can’t bring your animals here. But, over all very nice place.
