My family and I were seated upon arrival by hosts. We sat 20 mins before i walked to the front to let them know that no one has been to our table. The host apologized and went to locate the waitress. She never gave me a update. 15 more mins passed before someone from the opposite side asked if we had been helped. She was cleaning a table. We were grateful because we weren't even in her section. She came over and took our drink order. Bought them back and proceeded to take our food order. Prior to this four workers passed our area without acknowledgement. Once the young lady located our waitress we noticed that she had passed our table several times without greeting us or anything. She stared to the hosts that no one told her that our table was hers. By this time we were a little upset because we had been patient the entire time. During our waiting we witnessed 3 parties leave from our section due to lack of services. This was our very first time dining here and our last for the record. They were not short staffed. I counted at least 15 individuals swarming the floor during our visit. My husband had to walk to the bar to change out two sweet teas because they were awful. He said the bar customer service was great and she couldn't believe that he had to come to the bar to change out a drinks. Later I noticed a lady walking the floor and she was actually the manager. I asked to speak with her just to inform her on everything. She apologized of course and said that all staff Is aware of their tables and sections. She also stated that they were not short handed and that she will be conducting a meeting on things as soon as possible. She offered dessert, but we were not interested in dessert. We were just floored with what we had experienced. Overall the experience was horrible, but I must say the food was actually good. So great job to the...
Read moreDecided to grab a quick bite and a beer after work. Normally the experience is great; however this time not so much. When I entered the restaurant and talked to the hostess about sitting at a regular table she said she couldn't sit me at one because my party wasn't large enough (never heard that before at a restaurant), and then directed me to the tables by the bar where you have to sit on a stool (which I don't like to do when eating a meal). On the way I asked another waitress if I could sit at one of the regular tables in the bar area (not a bar stool table and not one of the regular tables outside the bar area) and with a funky attitude she told me "no" and that I'd have to talk to the hostesses. Resigned to having to go to the bar even though there were several regular tables available, I sat at the bar for 10 minutes with no interaction whatsoever with the bartender or the barback. No greeting, no eye contact, no picking up the dirty dishes from the previous customers...nothing. They weren't busy and there were plenty of other staff hanging around (including the person who appeared to be a shift supervisor/manager). Eventually I just walked out and I don't think any of the staff even noticed, let alone cared.
I didn't recognize any of the staff so maybe they've got a new crew that doesn't know the basics of the restaurant industry. Anyone can have a bad day and I'll try them again at some point but not anytime soon. Too many other local places that want my business.
EDIT: A few months later I decided to give them another shot and had a similar experience. Hostess seats my party outside; 20min goes by and nobody has said a word. We ended up walking out and grabbing a bite across the street (literally)....
Read moreBEWARE: I was @ the Carolina Ale House Friday evening having dinner. My cell phone came detached from my clip and when I returned home I realized I did not have my cell phone . I did find my I Phone, it was @ Carolina Ale House. I called them the next day @ 10:30am spoke to one of the managers, he said he did not find the phone, would ask around and let me know. I advised him I did not have a number to receive a call back. I then showed up because I knew my phone was left there. When I entered I told one of the employees I lost my phone there and she said I found your phone, let me finish with this customer and go to the office to get your phone. She then returned and advised me someone from the back would bring out my phone. I waited and waited nothing. I inquired with her again and she, said she would go ask again, she never did, she kept helping and serving. I walked to the back a manager came out introduced herself to me and advised me one of the employees had my phone and I had to wait until 5:00 when that employee returned to work. Really!!! 5:00 came 6:00 came that employee's said she placed in the office. She did not place in the office because I was able to track my I Phone in Rock Hill. When I advised the manager of this, he said call the Police like you said you was going to do earlier. No accountability, I reported to the Police to handle after many attempts to rectify. The food was not even worth losing my cell phone over. This place enforces no accountability whatsoever. Residents of Kingsley BEWARE if an employee removed my cell phone from Carolina Ale House, nothing will stop them from entering into your...
