I took a long time to write this comment and thought about it several times, but today I had yet another unpleasant experience. I regularly visit this library, and there are always many employees, but some of them are not very available or friendly when dealing with people.
On one occasion, an employee approached the table where I was working with my son and, in an authoritative and unpleasant manner, told me that I had to leave the table and that only my son could stay because he is a teenager. I tried to explain that we were working together and that’s why we were using the table, but she cut me off and left me mid-sentence.
On another occasion, I needed to print a document. They told me the printer was closed, even though it wasn't yet closing time. Apparently, there is an internal rule that only they know about, where they shut down all the technology equipment 15 minutes before closing.
Another day, I sent a document to the printer, and the lady refused to help me because she was busy.
Almost everyone seems to be in a surprising rush to get rid of you, rather than to help.
I love libraries, especially using the one in my community, but this situation is leaving me...
Read moreAs a college student trying to study here during break, this is not a good place. They staff is noisy and the people talk a lot with their kids. There is no quiet space dedicated to productive studying. There are only a few tables too.
I mean it is beautiful and gorgeous. But completely unfunctional for students looking to do work. I mean how do you expect the youth to get good grades if you don't provide us with adequate facilities to do the ridiculous amount of coursework we're supposed to accomplish? Typical old people not having a good perspective.
And it's not even open during the hours that students study. SMH.
This is classic old people not understanding what high schoolers/undergraduates face. "Let's open a library that only helps the elderly and the preschoolers." Cmon...

There’s no isolated place for individual study, and only a couple of tables in which you can be easily distracted by people walking in or the staff chatting with each other. Also the library is open at some pretty inconvenient hours, only during office hours. Real students study early mornings or late nights, I have no idea why they don’t extend hours for these times. This library is not college student friendly, it might as well be a Barnes and Noble without the coffee place. It needs some serious upgrades for it to be a good library. And it’s a shame because this is walking distance...
