Local Fort Pierce Waterfront seafood restaurant. They have a small indoor seating area and outside seating area as well, note be prepared to wait for your table and for your food once you are seated. The menus and the staff will remind you of this, it was mentioned that there was only a couple people in the kitchen as it's a small if I recall, 6 by 8 room. However it is definitely worth the wait, the view is spectacular the appetizers are phenomenal and the food is pretty good. They only serve beer and wine with a selection of domestic and craft beer as well, no alcohol frozen drinks, or drinks. We tried the following:
Conch fritters - a bit doughy but not dense, light and loaded with conch meat. The flavor was nice but the sauce could've used more slice in my opinion Miami Vice chowder- this is a clam and conch chowder it is amazing. While we were waiting for a table we saw several people come in and order Chowder's to go. It's no surprise why, please do yourself a favor a try some! Clam chowder- so fresh loaded with clams barely salt potatoes in it, great consistency, great flavor not too salty just perfect. Wellfleet oysters - these are slightly larger and slightly sweeter than your normal briny salty oysters but definitely fresh. Mussels- Super fresh, not salty, crispy bread to dip in delicious sauce. The meals come with a side and a salad we chose to have fresh anchovies on one of our Caesar salad and it could not get any fresher. Your classic surf and turf was loaded with fresh chunky buttery Lobster, so good definitely recommend this. Jameson Irish whiskey bread pudding- if you love Jameson Whiskey this desert is for you, the bread pudding was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The Whiskey sauce was a tad too strong for my taste but others in my table loved it. Finally we had the gluttony dish - this is a seafood pasta not pictured in my post but still very flavorful great sauce could have used a bit of a kick in my opinion it was like if it was lacking strong flavor of something couldn't put my nose on it but still overall pretty good.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant especially on a beautiful sunny day so you can enjoy the...
Read moreFriendly service, fresh seafood, great menu in a clean, comfortable atmosphere. We stopped in for dinner early on Saturday evening and although it was a short wait for a table, it was worth it. They have a full-service bar, but we decided to wait in the car for the text to let us know our table was ready. We stopped in looking for great food in a comfortable place and we got exactly what we came for. Although they advertise themselves as a Rustic Dive with Exceptional Eats, I would definitely not call this place a dive. Rustic, comfortable, and definitely exceptional eats.
The server, although very busy, was friendly, attentive, and on point. After questioning her about her favorite things on the menu, we decide on the Jack’s Miami Vice Conch Chowder, Steamed Mussels appetizer, and the Gluttony Pasta entree.
The chowder was out of this world. To our surprise, the bowl we ordered to share was huge and 1/2 filled with New England Clam Chowder and the other 1/2 filled with Bahamian Conch Chowder and 2 spoons. We both ate straight down the middle getting a little of each in every bite.
The steamed mussels were a decent size and there were 2 dozen and bread. All of the shells were open which, if you order mussels often, you know doesn’t always happen. Very tasty garlic, white wine, and butter sauce.
The Gluttony was a good-sized portion of fish, topped with large shrimp, peppers, and spinach covered in the most delightful Cajun cream sauce over a bed of very thin linguini pasta. In the end, we both used the bread to soak up the excess sauce.
Of all of the choices we made, we would order everything again. Although not a fancy place, it was clean and the food presentation was notable. All of the portions were worth the money, but I must say, we loved the chowder the best. I definitely will come back, especially with the chowder...
Read moreI've been this restaurant's biggest fan for over a decade now but after our visit yesterday we're gonna wait a while before returning. Upon arrival we were told that because of the weekend and closing both today and tomorrow they were out of all fish. Ok no problem we get it these things happen given the circumstances so we took our chances. The hostess said it would be about a 20 to 30 min wait which is normal for this place so again no problem. After an hour of waiting no exaggeration we checked back in and the hostess said it should only be about 5 min. 20 minutes later we were finally sat. The server arrived and took our drink order. Once we had our drinks we asked about the steak but to our surprise guess who was out of steak also. Already an hour and a half in we figured well were stuck now so we decided on a couple meals and a appetizer. Appetizer was great but when our meals arrived we noticed the portions were extremely small and nothing like it's been over the last 10 years of eating there. So long story short just another case of poor quality and less than average service that's now charging more and giving less. Most Corp restaurants are doing this but given the fees they have to pay you understand why. The mom and pop places that are not dealing with these issues but only lowering their standards that got them the reputation will only affect them in the long run. When driving up to this location we noticed about 60% of the businesses and restaurants were all now out of business so hopefully this place reads all these terrible reviews they've been getting and steps their game up. Or just another vacant business that had the opportunity to survive...
