Holmtown Pub — Restaurant in Fort Scott

I was very impressed on how good the food was, especially the fact that we got there 30 minutes before closing. normally we do not eat out this late but we have a few times in this area and the few times that we have we went to Sharky's which was a huge mistake both times we were not impressed by Sharky's food whatsoever matter fact it was extremely nasty. And at Sharky's I even ate the food that the waitress recommended had to send it back in which I never ever do at restaurants but it was so nasty I had no choice but to send it back and so this time we decided to go to Holmtown Pub and as I said before I was very impressed the food was absolutely delicious! I had the fried shrimp with a fully loaded baked potato and my husband got a Philly cheese steak sandwich with french fries and we got to drinks and an appetizer the appetizer of our choice was these stuffed jalapeno bite-size chunk things (I don't remember what they were called though🤦🤷) but I can tell you one thing those little jalapeno things were absolutely wonderful!!!! we went here one time before but when we walked in the kitchen was closed unfortunately and that was one of the times we actually had to go to Sharky's instead so from now on we will go to Holmtown Pub if we're ever back in this area. We do a lot of traveling with my husband's job so we will be leaving in a couple of weeks but again if wherever in this area we will definitely come back to Holmtown Pub!!! If you have not ate here before I recommend this...

I have known the owners many years. Chuck and Christy have always offered quality at a fair price, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. James manages it all with a lot of creativity and a top-notch staff. I've never given a second thought about throwing down a generous tip. You won't find any foo-foo drinks, but the drinks are honest and priced about right. Robert and his kitchen staff put out the usual bar food that's great, but he has a dinner menu that's even better. Not a huge selection, but the quality is the best around. I've always had a great time, but then again I know most everybody. I'm a local. Seems to have a growing number of touring types as well though. Looks like they figured out how to appeal to just about anybody walking in the door. No BS, just a pub-style good time served...

I've been here a few times it's always been really fun this last time that I went it was around 11 or 12 and they did last call at 1 in the morning they have really decent prices for their food and their drinks they don't do Blended drinks though which is a downside for the whole town in general.
