It was not a good experience. I've been a chef for 16 years and try to keep an open mind. The restaurant is attached to a super 8, which doesn't show here, and that should have been our first sign, but we tried it anyway. The food was not good. The husband's burger was way over cooked, the mushroom are jarred and just placed on top of the burger. We also had fried mushroom where you could tell they were really old mushrooms. I had a breakfast platter and my eggs were overcooked and tasted funny, my sausage links were overcooked and looked like old man genitals, and the bacon had definitely been thrown in the deeper fryer to cook more. Then there's the prices. They are more expensive than they say online, which is misleading. We paid 72$ for just my husband's burger and my breakfast meal and mushrooms (plus a tip of $10). The server never came back to the table after the food was dropped off, except to give us the check, I had to go look for sauces and stuff myself. Will not...
Read moreThis was my medium rare chopped steak with mashed potatoes (gravy on the side). It was definitely not medium rare, it was very dry, anlid the mushroom still had the taste of the can. The mashed potatoes were hard and dry on top like they had been sitting under a warmer light too long. The restaurant asked if they could redo it and I said no thank you because I fear what happens in the kitchen when a chef has to redo a meal. My son ordered the chicken sandwich.........which was also extremely dry, however he ate a little under half of it and we said nothing. The restaurant didn't charge me for my meal which was nice, however we decided not to try any of their desserts and we won't be eating breakfast there tomorrow. Going to go to Nu Grill to get some food cause my child is starving. From a travel blogger perspective, I would not recommend...
Read moreMy Dad I and met here a few years ago and the food was just ok. Went back today. My friend ordered a ribye steak and egg breakfast. What he got was a rib steak. When we questioned why his $23.99 steak wasn't a ribye, the owner came to our table, screaming that it was a ribye. He continued coming back to our table and acting like a lunatic. As we asked him to leave us alone so we could just eat our meal, he came over for the third time, waving around his meat bill, in front of my face, yelling that he pays top dollar for premium meat. We were shocked at his behavior, but informed by several members of the staff that this is typical behavior of how he treats staff and customers. My friends live in Fort Scott. Trust they will pass the word. This owner will be out of business soon. He is rude, disrespectful, unprofessional and not in...
