First off, there is no available bar seating in this restaurant but they do serve alcoholic beverages. My service experience before and while dining were typical of a Mexican restaurant, not bad but not overly personal or attentive either. The food was average at best. My dining companion received an order of tacos that were so laden with onions and cilantro that the dish bordered on inedible. The only thing that made the dish more palatable was the authentic tomatillo salsa that was provided upon request. My dish, what should have been a chicken enchilada and a tamale, was excessively heavy on the faux melted nacho cheese this restaurant seems to be a fan of. The cherry on top was that we visited for cinco de mayo and were planning on having a few beers as it was happy hour. We were promptly provided with a check after our dishes were cleared even though there was ample seating available. We paid the check and went down the street to a competitor and were served the...
Read moreI have eaten here before it was really good. I always order the same thing (chimichanga) l and this time my food was SO bad. The meat was bland other than a weird (spoiled?) taste i can't put my finger on. It was also not fried all the way. While it was crisp on the outside it was like dough on the inside.
The waitress was rude when I asked for more chips. And didn't check on us at all.
But the cherry on top was my friend ordered tacos and got cheap grocery store style tacos. Like, old el paso style. I can't belive they are charging 8.99 for 3 of these. Seriously not worth that. The meat in her tacos was dripping with grease to the point that the bottom of her taco was soggy. Her food looked so bad. She ate half a taco and gave it up.
Honestly, I didn't even want to pay for the food. This restaurant used to be so good, its a shame what has happened. If they don't get their act together they will find themselves out...
Read moreI hate giving 1 star and I almost did but didn’t have the heart to. Let’s start off with the cheese dip. Wthell was that they served. It was basically canned yellow stadium cheese dip we got. $6 for that??? Hell no. The rice was dry like it was frozen and cooked way ahead of time. The steak fajitas had no flavor other then the tenderizer they use. Tenderizer has a distinct taste and that’s all I tasted in the meat. I use to love this place back when it was good. It was either Maria’s or la Huertas for us but the last 2 times we’ve gone to Maria’s it’s been awful. I don’t think...
