We have lived in this town of Fort Valley, Ga for nearly 40 years. This was our "Friday night" place for years til our children were grown. We have always loved Captain D's; my dad & mom would drive from Macon to eat here at this restaurant for many years. Customer service was great and the manager visited the dining room continuously checking on customers. But the management has changed drastically and customer service is fair and that is stretching it, but for the last 3 years we have only eat here maybe 6 times no more. And it's because our orders were ALWAYS WRONG!! 6 times and Everytime they are wrong....whats wrong with this picture??? It's really sad that people don't do alittle extra to make sure they have satisfied customers. How do you get orders wrong when it's right there on the monitor???? 😳 But no matter whether we come in or drive thru our order are always always WRONG!! This is the last time we visit this location in Ft Valley!! My husband and my 90 year old father in law went in to order 3 take out orders just today. My order was written down on a piece of paper, my husband gave the paper to the guy taking their orders. The person taking the order can not read!!!! (He was in training and nobody to guide him) My order was completely wrong!! My husband's order was completely wrong, even my father in laws order was W-R-O-N-G!! When they checked the order in front of my husband before bagging it he told him all of them were incorrect. The guy just looked at him. 😳 And on top of that NOBODY made any move to correct it!! NOBODY!!! NOTTA!!! Did nothing!! Manager was in the back cooking!!! She saw the guy was overwhelmed, others were complaining. NOBODY did nothing!! And it wasn't just our orders it was folks that were there already. WHY would a manager put a new person taking orders out on the front without help or someone to guide him as he took orders and money!!!! 🤦🏻♀️My husband got furious and left!! And when he got home he said "don't ask me to go there ever again!!" And that was the mild version of his complaint!! I agree we will NOT be going back until employees are trained properly and can READ and follow instructions and are trained to meet the customers' need and make sure they leave there satisfied. I am sure YOU would not be happy if YOU spent $30 on a meal and the entire order was wrong??? We have family and friends that also have been very unsatisfied with the personnel or the food. So several of them refuse to eat there ever again! ATTENTION DISTRICT MANAGER: This location is in dire need of retraining everyone from manager down. Train them to: Take orders correctly LISTEN closely Verify the orders correctly REPEAT back to customer Make sure the order is RIGHT and going to the RIGHT customer - cook area workers Show your customer their food and if not satisfied correct the problem and make sure the customer is happy with their food. Ask if their food is correct and offer condiments and anything they need to enjoy their meal. It use to be that way. Very disappointed and will not spend another dollar in this restaurant. Read moreBe prepared to wait longer then expected to recieve your order. Without fail, every time we go to this captain D's the wait time is lengthy. Tonight I placed an order online for 7:40 pm pickup time expecting to be in and out in no time with food in hand. Upon arrival I told two employees at two different times I was there to pickup my online order. My order was not started until the shift manager asked if I had been helped and I told her also I was picking up my online order. The customer that was already inside waiting for his food when I arrived became agitated with how long it was taking to receive his order and had to inform the shift manager he couldn't wait any longer due to being on his lunch break. The shift manager was very polite to the man and made sure the staff got his order done immediately. I received my order at 8:10 pm. Aside from orders taking too long to get done all of the employees were polite and the restaurant was very clean. We have had one other issue with this location one evening when we pulled up to the drive through speaker and were told they were closed (an hour and a half earlier then closing hours). We watched them turn away the car behind us and take the third cars order. My husband called corporate and received a call back from the district manager who was in route to this captain d's location. As she was pulling in the parking lot she stated they were still open and taking orders and if we wanted to come back she would make sure our order was ready however we were not going back after that incident and went to the perry captain d's instead where we always have...
Read moreMy review in Jan 2021: I've given the benefit a few times due to previous review and experience at this location. The service has gone down tremendously. I know times are tough but after last night, I'm not so sure if that's really a valid reason anymore. It feels silly to complain about but I always forget to ask myself; every visit the past year, they have not asked which sauces we'd like. Most recently, I was charged for the wrong meal. I handed them my card, heard the price, attempted to tell the cashier but tried to give benefit of doubt that they didn't hear me, so when I got my card back, I told the cashier and they tried arguing with me...then when asked for a supervisor or manager, mumbled under their breath. They did void the incorrect charge and charge correctly. We had a couple meals ordered total, drove off because we weren't told that to wait for any additional bags etc. Well, we get home and my meal was missing. Drive back, there was no apology. We were given hot fish but the fries were lukewarm. Drive thru wait is at least 20 minutes. My review in 2018: Great prices, service, and quality.
