My husband and I wanted to try something new and after seeing all the good reviews we decided to give cowhead a chance.
When we entered the inside appeared pretty roomy but also quite dark. The 2 men present didn't seem very enthusiastic about us disturbing their peace as the whole dining room was empty. We decided to sit outside as the weather was pretty decent and despite the clouds far lighter than on the inside. The outside deck was a really nice surprise and would have been even nicer if someone would actually show some love and clean it a little.
Concerning cleaning - the visible part of the kitchen looked pretty good but the cleanliness of the restrooms left quite some wishes open concerning improvement.
However, back to the burgers - after paying over 30$ for 2 burgers, 1 loaded fries, a milk shake and a coke we really hoped the ordered items would stand up to the price. When the first item finally came - a strawberry milkshake - it was not what we had hoped for. My husband was very disappointed about the size of his milk shake for this price. Then came the burgers and the fries. The loaded fries - garlic parm - were pretty nice and enjoyable though it was slightly disturbing that the burgers didn't come with anything at all. However, what should have been the star of the dish was a very disappointing experience. Well, the burgers were mediocre - on par with Hardee's according to my husband. The bread was very chewy though toasted, the burger patty was very well done and the pulled pork added to mine was cold at best. Furthermore the burgers were not very big at all.
We really love burgers and hoped for another excellent burger place but when a nearby brewery has much better and cheaper burgers than a burger joint, than it's really...
Read moreI’ve waited for any response from the management before I wrote a review, but have heard nil. I ordered 3 meals to go and had the following issues: Ordered Asiago tots, but all were replaced with fries without telling me. Found out when I got home. There was so much salt on the fries and chicken that it was uneditable, no exaggeration. When talking to an employee the next day, it was said that they know who would have done that, so apparently someone routinely over salts. Tried to call the restaurant when I got home but it appeared to have closed early. The chicken tenders, besides being overly salted were about the size of a Macdonald’s chicken McNugget, all three of them. The drinks I had ordered were not available. 6.Went back the next day and the person at the counter was very nice and took my info, but have not heard a word from management yet.
I had to pay a 10% surcharge to order online. You would think that there would be better communication between the restaurant and this service to have an updated inventory and not allow you to order items that were not available at the time. And it would be a good idea to let customers know when they are picking up their food that they substituted most of their purchases. The burgers were not bad though. I doubt I will hear anything back from management. Maybe I will, if so I may update my review.
I was given an email address by the owner. I emailed him with my receipt and the complaint, no response. Sent 2 more follow up emails with no avail.
As much as I want downtown to succeed, I will never recommend this place to anyone. I am disappointed...
Read moreWe just happen to find this restaurant while on vacation. Glad we did. My fiance ordered a Juicy Lucy Burger with loaded fries and I got Chicken tenders and fries. He said his burger was great. Definitely a reason it's named juicy 😋 My chicken tenders were excellent. Real chicken tenders I think. Not some formed chicken parts tender. Prices were reasonable. Many beverage choices including beer. They offer milkshakes too. You can sit at a booth, a table or the counter. If you really love it you can also purchase a hat or tee shirt. Parking was behind the building and offered a outside eating area. Menu had a good selection, offering Burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast items. They have a kids menu for ages 12 and under. I think they had 3 choices but most kids would pick those things anyhow. You get a menu and then have a seat. When you figure out what you want, you go up to the counter and place your order. They will bring it to your table and you get a cup to get your pop from the self serve machine. When you are finished eating you leave your plates on your table and they will come pick them up. If you want to give a tip, you can add that onto the bill when you check out or you could leave cash on your table. Overall a good meal and we would go back again if we visit the area...
