LongHorn Plaza — Restaurant in Fort Walton Beach

I go to this Longhorns almost twice because month for their New York strip and this visit wasn't my favorite. We had a 7 top of 2 children and 5 adults and our server seemed overwhelmed. We had to request refills before being offered them a few times. She never brought any napkins. I ordered the Farmers Market Chicken and received Parmesan Chicken instead 🤔. One of my guests ordered a Cesar salad that was brought without dressing. He had to wait a good 10 minutes before we even could catch our servers attention and when she was made aware of the problem she blamed it on the new guy in the kitchen. One of the children ordered a steak from the kids menu and asked for it medium well [a THIN strip of pink in the center] it definitely was medium if that😐. It was tough to chew even for me and had blood running in the juices onto his plate. By this time I'm irritated because when I brought this to the server's attention & asked for a burger she acted as if I was wrong for asking for a med well steak for my 12 year old. Her reply was "oh so you wanted WELL done then." No. I wanted what I ordered. By this time I am irritated and asked for a burger for my child and I was told it would be a 20 minute wait because the kitchen had a new guy but she could just put the steak back on the grill! Smh. I rarely ever send food back to the kitchen due to horror stories I've heard about mistreatment of food by disgruntled cooks and kitchen staff but because my child was hungry and agreed, I did so. A few minutes later a staff member comes out with this little shriveled up peice of steak on a plate🤦🏽‍♀️. Unfortunately Longhorns dropped the ball on this particular visit. I will return because I usually dont have any trouble with my service or food here. Maybe the server was overwhelmed by the dinner rush. Whatever the case may be I hope it was one of those of days for one of my favorite places...

When we arrived, we were told there would be a 30 to 45 minute wait. We told the hostess that was fine, we were in no hurry. We were seated in less than 4 minutes. The table, chairs and floors were clean. Our waiter, Jayden, came to our table immediately and took our drink orders. When he returned, he took our appetizer order. When our appetizer came out, Jayden took our dinner order. Since I do not like a lot of salad dressing, I had requested my salad dressing on the side. When I received my salad, my dressing was on it, but I ate it anyway, I just didn't eat all the way to the bottom where the dressing had pooled. We ordered my steaks medium rare. Mine was Medium (which I tend to like it more to the rare than to Medium), and it was tough. My husband's was rare, and he likes his more medium. It was tender, not tough at all. The food was very bland. Not seasoned. I had the Outlaw steak, was not seasoned at all. My associate got the lamb chops. I did not love either dish. They were bland. I frequent LongHorn steakhouse in Texas and Oklahoma, the food is always amazing. I feel like maybe Florida, they just don't season the food or they don't have the right people in the kitchen in Florida. The brussel sprouts were the best part of the entire meal and they were on someone else's plate. I ate them off...
