Party of 9.5 for a birthday celebration. Busy Friday night. Made the family wait until majority was there. Get that, but no drinks or apps (or complimentary anything) was offered to anyone in the crowded lobby. A sample of anything or the offer of, simply something like water would have been appreciated. Not sure who the manager was, but based on the volume in the FOH...there should have been at least 2. Restaurant was hot: granted it was 66°F on January 26th when just last week it was 20°F... I can understand. One simple request from a young lady bussing a table and issue resolved.
I. Never. Felt. Ignored. Which after 23 years in this industry, that is the BIGGEST failure of service I can experience. I appreciated all of the attentive and quick responses to ANY request I made. And as a matter of fact...I am the least needy guest you will literally ever have. I will take the order, ring it in, COOK IT, serve the meal and even run my own tab WHEN/IF necessary with my hands tied behind my back and my team's support.
To my surprise... I didn't HAVE to do anything, because any request made or service expected was handled in a timely, kind and timely manner. The whole team did an excellent job. Even though a manager did not "touch" my table...I knew he was there and saw/felt his presence with his team. To be accurate...If I am correct...and I tend to be...;-)...he was bearded and in a light blue button down shirt.
Cody. Our server. He was on another level of service and courteousness that I would anticipate in an upscale or fine dining environment. No doubt he BANKS there. We appreciated you, Cody. Y'all reward him with something. If nothing else, recognition of TAKING PRIDE IN HIS JOB. You will succeed anywhere you work if you hold on to YOUR standards.
I left this industry after 23 years of service. I have done everything. Nothing any restaurant, event or bar could ever throw at me will ever be a challenge, so it is hard to be impressed. Especially when this location has been a disappointment in the past. We refused to visit and have not been since 2021. Happy to know that the level of service, food and atmosphere have improved.
Thank you for a great experience FWB Lonhhorn Team. ...
Read moreWe came in and the hostess that greeted us was very kind and energetic. Our waitress was polite but absent, which I would look over if it was busier but we were 1 of 2 tables and by the time we left were the only table sat. We ordered the spinach dip and the fire chicken wraps as appetizers. The wraps were good but the spinach dip was still cold in the middle. I was disappointed but the waitress eventually came over and took it back for them to heat up again. The dip was a much better temp and consistency with the reheating but the pita chips that were once crispy were now flimsy and almost wet. Safe to say I lost my appetite for my dip. Shortly after, my t bone steak came out and my brother got the Flo filet. I asked for medium rare and he asked for medium and my steak was rare in a lot of spots and his was also medium rare-rare. They were also cold in the middle and at this point I honestly didn’t even want to finish the meal. The waitress came over while we were discussing the disappointing state of the food we had received and we asked if she could have them cooked more. She took them back and we took that chance to eat our side Mac and cheese which we also found to be cold, surprise surprise. At this point I honestly just wanted to leave but waited for the steaks as we were hungry. She brought our steaks back and they were both closer to a medium rare (keep in mind my brother had asked for his medium) but they had no flavor to them and the fat was not rendered off at all so my first bite after getting my steak back was full fat which honestly made me kinda sick. We didn’t finish any of our food except for the Mac and cheese and the fire chicken wraps. This meal was a complete waste of money and time and I would expect better service from all parts of the staff with there being no customers inside but us. This happened our first time here as well and trust me when I say there will not be a third. Will not be recommending this place to...
Read moreVery mixed feelings about this place and this visit. As we exited our car in the parking lot a lady, who appeared to work at Longhorn, also exited her car parked several away. Her perfume was so strong I could smell it. She hustled right in and we took our time. The perfume smell was still in the air after she was gone. I said to myself I hope she is not our waitress. When we entered the foyer the moldy musty smell was awful. We entered the restaurant and approached the hostess stand. The fowl moldy smell was still present. I was debating leaving but eventually a hostess came up and seated us. We were taken to our table and very shortly our server arrived. Guess who it was? Yes, the over powering perfume lady. She was a great waitress. Very prompt, very attentive. Very cheerful and polite, but, I just couldn't wait for her to get away from the table so I could breath! Ma'am...if you every read this I apologize if I hurt your feelings but PLEASE cut back on the perfume! The steaks and dessert were great! Our server was great. The person I believe was the manager was in the dining room many times but never stopped at the table to see how things were. As we left and walked the full length of the restaurant towards the door this manager person followed us. As we passed the hostess stand there were two employees standing there, the manager stopped at the hostess stand also. None of them said anything to us. I don't expect anyone to kiss my ass but usually a restaurant manager stops at customers tables and usually a manager or other staff says goodbye, thanks for coming in or something....not just stares at you. This location does not meet what I normally receive or expect at Longhorn Restaurants. I don't think we will ever be going...
