Jeff's Coney — Restaurant in Fort Wayne

Horrible experience!!! I don't know where to begin with the service or the food. Both were horrible. 3 people working but only one took any orders at both carry out and dine in while the other 2 stood at the grill waiting for orders to come in. They waited a long time as well as customers since only one waitress. They could have jumped in and helped until they got an order especially on a Wednesday special price day!!! Carry out got served before us even tho we had been sitting there. Hot dogs have been on that grilll since lunch. Skins were so tough couldn't even bite into them. Shriveled up Rubber hot dogs. Ordered tater tots we were completely done with the disgusting hot dogs and he was just dropping some in the fryer. I told him just forget it and give me the bill. Right as I was telling them he told the other employee take these tots to table 8 we were sitting at table 13 so they weren't for us anyway. Table 8 came in way after us. I am actually worried I even ate the hot dogs now. I wish now I wouldn't have. Definitely shouldn't have paid for the garbage. Then the bill comes. Sales tax, food and beverage tax, and then a check out fee??? WHAT??? WE WILL NEVER BE BACK AND I WISH I WOULDN'T HAVE PAID FOR...

I had not sat at the counter in Jeff's Coney in 45 years. I went there as a kid growing up in Ft. Wayne. I went there with my grandfather when he came to visit, and my childhood posse on our bikes when we would mow laws for quarters so we could go up there on the first Saturday of summer for the all you could eat hot dog special. I had to fly in to the area, and made sure my schedule allowed me to go by and see if the magic was still there. And it truly was. I walked in and was 11 years old again. The counter, the dogs right in front of you, but most importantly, the people. None of them were there 45 years ago, but somehow to work there, you have to know, respect, and just simply feel the vibe that is the history of that place. The food was timeless, and as it was, should, and supposed to be. The current ownership understands that, respects the legacy, and knows the value of a good customer. I cannot say enough things about Jeff's Coney, other than to say that lunch meal was 45 years in the making, and did...

Stopped in for a quick snack/lunch today and was extremely disappointed.... Not only was it not quick at all but coneys were horrible.... waited almost 15-20 minutes to order(ended up getting Togo) Barely hot coneys, hardly any sauce, small in size(more bun than dog/sauce) said no mustard but ended up with no ketchup either... Sauce was very low and extremely blan.... They've definately changed more than owners in past few years. This was one of my first jobs and favorite coney places until today. I also, ordered sides and was given no sauces for dipping or even asked if I wanted any... Both people completin orders looked irritable and angry and was really any team effort in helping the only server while being busy. Not sure I'll be recommending/returning... Maybe coney island is really the best in...
