O'Charley's Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Fort Wayne

This was my first but certainly not my last visit to O'Charley's restaurant. It is an amazing restaurant, and although they were wall to wall busy, there was no wait time, my waiter was outstanding, friendly, polite and fast in accommodating my friend and me. It is quite a compliment when both the manager and owner come out to ensure everything is okay. I wish I could give them a higher rating than is permitted The picture I've posted doesn't do the restaurant justice, but I can assure you that the food was plenteous, served hot, and tasted delightful... especially the prices of the meals were fair. Some restaurants that are fully busy like this you walk in and it's just another restaurant, however, when you walk in and it's bases loaded and the atmosphere is happy, friendly and seeing friends business partners having lunch... you know that the manager and the owner have a good thing going on👍 I would make one request of corporate, however... I'm sure that the corporate office has already budgeted for new tables for this restaurant, not only badly needed, but also extremely worthy of the upgrade, but it does not speak well of an establishment when the plate sticks to the table! This is not from abuse, for they are otherwise a very clean establishment, but years of use and wearing down of the finish on the top of the tables from the era when they were first installed. I strongly suggest corporate not only upgrade the tables as soon as possible, but until then, purchase paper disposable placemats to give the customer peace of mind that the place they are eating is as absolutely sanitary as possible until the tables can be replaced. On Thursday I decided to go for the all you can eat catfish at O Charley's. When I received my order the fish was very salty. I informed the barmaid (Ashley) She asked if I wanted something else instead. I really wanted to eat fish so I instead asked for some lemon and hot sauce. I put these items on the fish thinking it would tone down the saltness, it did not. Fish was far too salty. I told the barmaid and she offered to replace my meal with something else on the menu. So I accepted her offer for a different meal. I ordered a steak instead. When I got my bill I noticed I had gotten charged for both meals anyway. When I asked the barmaid (Ashley) why she offered to replace my meal and then still charge me for the salty catfish, she just says sorry about that. I told her you could have explained to me that you were going to charge me for salty fish and I would have not ordered anymore food at all. I asked why do I deserve to be treated like this charging me under handedly? She then storms away throwing paper violently against the wall all in front of her manager. Then the manager just takes my credit card and throws it back on the counter in a very disrespectful way and says to me you can just leave!!! I asked her is that how you will return my card by just throwing it back at me? She said nothing as if this behavior by her and employee is the normal way of treating customers like me! Dont get me wrong, I absolutely love the food, but when you only see your server 3 times (when ordeing, when they bring your drinks and getting your food) and you arent even given time to ask for another drink from the normal menu or bar drink menu and you end up waiting over 25 minutes just to get your food kinda puts me off. We have been here for almost an hour so we waited anywhere from 10-25 minutes each time before even seeing the waitress. When i received my food my fries were almost cold and my sons was as well. Not once were we asked if we wanted any more rolls. My chicken was warm but definitely tasted as though it had been sitting for the whole time i was waiting for it. Mind you, i is a weekday, monday to be specific, and it is practically dead here, maybe 4-5 other tables in the main dining area occupied besides ours but most had already had their food. I had been sitting with an empty drink the entire time i waited for my food, which is unacceptable. I could go on but i will end it here. Just all around unhappy with the dining experience i had and probably wont come back but thanks anyways.
