Went in and got a slightly pink burger asked for a burger with no pink which I shouldn't have to ask for in any food place. I got a burger with more pink in it sent it back. The manager then came and told me it was acceptable to serve me a pink burger as long as it was up to temp and she temp that one herself. It wasn't even hot when it hit the table the second time luke warm at best. The first one was hotter and I never saw the manager anywhere near that grill to temp test. I tried getting ahold of the district manager to resolve this quietly and have heard nothing so take it to heart. There is a manager at this location that will allow the serving of pink burgers even when asked not to be pink and if you send it back twice that manager will offer you to order a different burger for them to do right when the problem is the cooking of their beef patties because your not happy with that sandwich as she told me. If I hear from the district manager cause I did call and leave my name and info with a different restaurant and they said would email and I would hear back that was a week ago at least I will change this review to reflect that steak n' shake doesn't agree with this opinion that getting that pink burgers are allowed to be served in their restaurants. Until then my family and friends will not be going to any of their restaurants as I had to walk out and I'm telling them of my experience and that it seems like steak and shake approves and stands behind this employee as I haven't even gotten a call asking what happened or an apology from anyone and I don't expect one a week later hence my review. Read moreI’m having trouble even giving this particular Steak ‘n Shake 1star. We stood for 15 minutes before being acknowledged and the waitress wasn’t happy about having to clean a table for us and there were several other families waiting and several others that left due to the long wait. Another 15 minutes before a server came to the table and took our order. In the meantime a waiter went to the kitchen window area and was explaining the one of his customers had received the wrong order...and tell the cook staff what he needed and the cooks were making rude comments back to him. He was at the end of his shift and wanted to make sure his customer was taken care of...cook staff continued to make rude comments and even called him bi-polar. Next thing you know the waiter can be heard throughout the entire restaurant yelling at the cook staff...expletives regarding how they were treating the customers. His main concern seemed to be customer service. Not condoning his behavior but he was provoked. ...this went on for around 20 minutes while the waiter came and went in and out of he bulking several times. Police were called bit waiter had left the premises by the time they arrived. I asked a passing server if wouldn’t mind checking on our order...she said ok but never did. Our original waitress who turned out to be the manager never came back to our table even tho she was serving other tables. She asked someone else to deliver our food which was partially incorrect. Read moreNot sure what changed, but this place has really gone downhill in the past year or so. We used to stop in a LOT ever since our college days at USF, but then they stopped the sliders (perfect for our kids) and the BOGO grilled cheese (the thing we got our kids after they took the sliders). So it got pricey with young kids. They started being really stingy about the honey mustard sauce and we had to check the bag every time to see if they really put them in and if they were full at all. Then they started getting screwy with the coupons and not accepting ANY substitutes or expired coupons (they used to not care about expiration dates at all).. a few months ago, we stopped in to use a current specialty seasonal milkshake BOGO coupon, they were out of the shake on the coupon (even though it was still in season and on their menu), when we asked if we could just get other specialty milkshakes, they said no, the coupon couldn't apply to anything else (the specialty coupons have always worked for any of the specialty shakes). That was the first time we just left to go somewhere else. The following four times we've tried in the past 6 mos, the line took SO long (with only about 2-4 cars not moving), that we gave up after 10-20 minutes. Their coupons have gotten really bad too. It is terrible. Don't know why we keep trying. This past weekend we stopped and ended up leaving the slow line (3 cars, just sitting in the line with one in front of us at the menu waiting to order for 10 minutes before we realized how dumb we were being) and heading to McDonalds for McFlurries.
